What You Can Expect

Responsible for overseeing the sourcing, purchasing, inventory support, and transportation of goods to ensure efficient supply chain operations. This role manages vendor relationships, assists with negotiating pricing, coordinates domestic and international shipments, and ensures compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements. Works closely with suppliers and internal departments to monitor the timeline of procurement from purchase to receiving.

This is position is onsite, 5 days per week, in Austin, Texas. 

How You'll Create Impact

  • Manage online procurement trackers and timelines
  • Partner with Engineers on supplier meetings to assist with order activities.
  • Purchasing of R&D, Marketing, and Quality Controlled products.
  • Execute all purchasing activities from the start of order to receiving products.
  • Support with receiving product, inventory logging and (if applicable) support quality assurance on acquiring documentation and certification of products.
  • Coordinate domestic and international shipping activities, including carrier selection and freight management.  
  • Ensure compliance with import/export regulations, customs requirements, and transportation laws.  
  • Monitor shipping schedules and resolve delivery, logistics, or supply chain issues.

  • Address problems quickly and effectively using factual data, possess situational flexibility, and know the resources to approach for efficient resolution.
  • Requires working knowledge and understanding of processes for pre-production meetings, setting standard costs and sale to vendors.    
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks within designated timelines and prioritize workload.
  • Expected to operate with minimal supervision.
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook/Mail/Calendar, Livelink, and the ability to learn new software applications.
  • Organizational and quick learning skills are required.

Your Background

  • Minimum Requirements: High School Diploma or Equivalent and 4 years of relevant experience
  • Highly preferred experience/certifications:
    • Experience with Netsuite and Jira.
    • Experience in FDA-regulated and/or ISO 13485 environments, preferably within the medical device industry.
    • Working knowledge of purchasing controls under 21 CFR Part 820, including Purchasing Controls (820.50).
    • Experience working with suppliers.
    • Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems, documentation control, and supporting audit/compliance activities.
    • Certification in import/export compliance, customs regulations, or international trade.
    • Hazardous materials shipping certification (DOT, IATA, or IMDG).
