BAND - Growth Marketing Specialist
About NAVER U.Hub
NAVER U.Hub is the U.S. subsidiary of NAVER, a global internet technology company based in Los Angeles with offices in Seattle and Redwood City. Our teams across NAVER Search US, BAND, ThingsBook, and NAVER Ventures collaborate to advance AI, social media, and investment initiatives that build smarter and more connected experiences for global users.
About the Role
BAND, a leading group communication app, is expanding into new verticals—franchise operators, faith communities, adult sports leagues, nonprofits, and online communities—with more likely to follow. The Growth Marketing Specialist owns the on-the-ground work of building growth in these verticals from scratch: there's no existing playbook, so you'll create one as you go.
You'll reach out directly to potential users and organizations in new verticals to understand their needs, map the channels that reach them, and gather the intelligence needed to figure out what it takes to reach product-market fit in each space. From there, you'll design promotions and incentive programs, build go-to-market strategies, generate leads, and develop strategic and content partnerships to turn that understanding into real growth.
This is hands-on, execution-heavy work: you're expected to run the outreach yourself, test what works, and turn early signals into a repeatable approach—not just plan it and hand it off.
Key Responsibilities
Vertical Discovery & Market Intelligence
- Conduct direct outreach to potential users and organizations in new verticals (franchise operators, faith communities, adult sports leagues, nonprofits, online communities, and others as BAND expands) to understand their needs and workflows.
- Identify and map the channels, associations, and networks through which each vertical can be reached.
- Gather and synthesize intelligence on what's needed to reach product-market fit within each vertical, including product gaps, messaging needs, and adoption barriers.
- Build and refine vertical-specific growth playbooks as you learn what works, since none currently exist.
- Design and execute promotional and incentive programs (e.g., referral incentives, early-adopter offers, group incentives) tailored to each vertical's needs.
- Test and iterate on incentive structures based on adoption and engagement results.
- Develop go-to-market strategies for new verticals, including target segments, messaging, channels, and rollout sequencing.
- Execute go-to-market plans directly, adjusting based on early results and on-the-ground learnings.
- Execute lead generation initiatives including outreach, events, and targeted campaigns within each vertical.
- Qualify and nurture leads, coordinating with internal teams to convert interest into active organizations and users.
- Plan and attend industry events, conferences, and community gatherings relevant to each target vertical (e.g., franchise expos, faith conferences, sports league meetups, nonprofit summits).
- Represent BAND at these events and serve as the face of the outreach effort to prospective organizations.
- Support event activations including booths, speaking opportunities, and community engagement initiatives.
- Coordinate pre- and post-event outreach, lead capture, and follow-up to convert event interest into active organizations and users.
- This position requires some travel.

- Develop content partnerships (co-branded content, guest content, joint webinars, etc.) that support awareness and credibility in new verticals.
- Manage partner relationships to ensure commitments are met and partnerships are fully leveraged for growth.
- Collaborate with internal teams and contribute to shared projects, including but not limited to conference attendance, content creation, customer demos and support, and other initiatives that support overall growth efforts.
