QC Chemistry Intern

Supports the characterization of pH measurement processes for MEVS products, including evaluation of electrode performance, buffer preparation, calibration frequency, and measurement variability.
Collaborate on the performance qualification processes for pH incubators, including protocols and reporting.
Assists in the design and execution of process improvement experiments for pH testing, collecting and organizing data according to approved protocols.
Performs sample preparation and testing under supervision in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), ensuring GMP-compliant documentation.
Contributes to the evaluation and comparison of pH measurement equipment and consumables, supporting method suitability assessments.
Assists in the preparation and revision of SOPs, work instructions, and technical reports related to pH testing processes.
Participates in root cause analysis and troubleshooting activities when pH measurement results deviate from established specifications.
Supports data trending and statistical analysis of pH measurement results, preparing summary reports for review by senior staff.
Maintains laboratory records and logbooks accurately, ensuring traceability and completeness of all experimental data.
Works collaboratively with QC technicians, QC Engineers, and cross-functional teams to support laboratory operations and ongoing improvement projects.
Supports audit readiness activities by ensuring test records and bench documentation comply with regulatory and internal quality standards.
Complies with GMP, ISO, FDA, OSHA, and company quality and safety standards in all assigned activities.
Performs other duties as assigned by management.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Basic understanding of analytical chemistry principles, including pH theory, potentiometry, and acid-base chemistry.
Familiarity with laboratory instrumentation such as pH meters, electrodes, and calibration standards.
Ability to follow written procedures and SOPs accurately and with strong attention to detail.
Basic data analysis skills, including the use of spreadsheets (Microsoft Excel) for organizing and summarizing experimental results.
Ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate findings clearly in written and oral form.
English language proficiency at a B1 level or higher.
Familiarity with GMP or GLP principles is a plus but not required.
Experience:
Prior laboratory coursework or academic project experience in analytical or physical chemistry is preferred.
No prior industry experience required; this is an entry-level internship position.
Education:
Advanced student (currently enrolled, not yet graduated) in a Bachelor's degree program in Chemistry, Industrial Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biochemistry, Biotechnology Engineering, or a related field.
Must be available to complete an internship as part of their academic program requirements (Trabajo Comunal Universitario, práctica supervisada, or equivalent).
