We are seeking candidates who model our values: invest in every relationship, lead with curiosity, champion diverse perspectives, turn inputs into actions, and uphold trust through integrity. Skills and Competencies5+ years of professional front-end development experience, and a track record of exceptional work: A strong portfolio of production-quality interactive data stories and prototypesProven ability to translate design concepts into responsive, accessible, and high-performing front-end experiencesStrong editorial and storytelling instincts, with the ability to communicate complex data through compelling visual narratives and clear points of viewExcellent collaboration and communication skills, with experience partnering closely with designers, analysts, editorial teams, and leadership while explaining technical concepts to non-technical stakeholdersStrong foundation in design principles, including grid systems, typographic hierarchy, layout composition, and editorial design sensibilitiesExpert-level proficiency in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, with hands-on experience using D3, Canvas, or similar data visualization libraries; proficient in at least one analytical programming language, such as R or Python, and able to apply statistical thinking to real-world problemsExperience working with modern JavaScript frameworks such as Svelte, as well as familiarity with Adobe Creative Cloud tools (Illustrator and Photoshop), web production workflows and Mac OS environments; proven ability to leverage AI tools to streamline workflows and enhance operational efficiency while being aware of AI risk management with a commitment to responsible and ethical AI usePreferred: Experience with geospatial tools such as QGIS; exposure to WebGL or creative coding frameworks (e.g., P5.js, Three.js); experience with 3D tools such as Cinema 4D or Blender; and motion graphics or video editing capabilitiesEducationBachelor's degree in Design, Computer Science, Digital Media, Data Visualization, Journalism, Information Design, or a related field, or equivalent professional experienceAdvanced training or certifications in data visualization, front-end development, user experience design, analytics, or emerging technologies is...
