We are seeking a Managing Director – Real Estate Private Capital Advisory & Solutions Coverage in JP Morgan’s  Global Real Estate Investment Banking Group. The incumbent will be an individual contributor and develop JP Morgan’s presence in this market with organized calling effort and development of relationships around Real Estate Private Capital Deals. We need someone who knows where the market is for structure and fees.  We prefer the position will be based in New York but will consider elsewhere for the right candidate. 

 

Job Responsibilities 

  • Originate and secure capital for JV and platform recapitalizations by leveraging senior relationships with SWFs, public pensions, insurers, and other global real estate investors; anchor commitments and structure co-invests.
  • Lead deal structuring and negotiation end-to-end (term sheets through definitive docs), including JV governance, promote/waterfall mechanics, alignment provisions, and conflict management.
  • Set underwriting standards and oversee investment evaluation and diligence 
  • Build and maintain relationships with capital sources advisors, and internal partners across the Commercial & Investment Bank. 
  • Stay up to date with industry trends to identify opportunities for innovation or strategic partnerships 
  • Find ways to further efficiency with existing technical infrastructure through automation while embracing the innovative opportunities offered by new technologies
  • Foster a diverse, equitable and inclusive work environment

 

Required Qualifications, Capabilities and Skills

  • Deep, active network with senior decision-makers (CIOs, Heads of Real Assets/Private Markets) at leading SWFs, public pensions, sovereign investment companies, insurers, endowments, and large family offices
  • Minimum of fifteen years leading complex JV formations, continuation vehicles, platform recapitalizations, secondary GP-led processes and alike  
  • Ability to mobilize internal networks and resources
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills; able to effectively communicate clearly and concisely 

Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree and formal training preferred
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage, prioritize, work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Strong interpersonal and influencing skills, with the ability to establish credibility and strong partnership with senior business and control partners
  • Self-directed, proactive, and creative solution and problem solving abilities: use sound judgment and navigates ambiguity to get things done
  • Flexible to changing business priorities and ability to multitask
  • FINRA securities licenses 79, 63 and 24 required or must obtain within 180 days of hire
