We are seeking a talented and passionate Technical Director – Engagement and Communication to lead strategic engagement and communication initiatives across complex infrastructure, environmental, and energy projects. 

Join GHD’s fast-growing engagement services area working with a network of communication and engagement services consultants across APAC to help deliver GHD’s vision of creating lasting community benefit.

This role is a fantastic opportunity for you to work with the Melbourne-based team and with clients who seek to manage risk and preparing communities for change.

Working with a high performing team, this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in:
  • Lead the development and implementation of stakeholder and community engagement strategies and plans across the wide variety of projects that GHD are involved with
  • Manage and successfully deliver complex projects for clients
  • Develop and enhance client relationships, both existing and new growth areas
  • Proactively identify new opportunities and convert these into proposals and close sales
  • Contribute to high performing teams and drive delivery excellence
  • Significantly contribute to the development of thought leadership artefacts
  • Demonstrate management and leadership behaviours, coaches and mentors people, role models GHD behaviours
  • Contributes to GHD’s strategic direction
What would you bring to the team?
  • Formal qualifications in a Social Science/Communications/Commerce degree or similar; or appropriate transferable skills
  • A great focus on client service and delivery
  • Strong organisational and problem-solving skills together with the capacity to be flexible and adaptable
  • Excellent writing skills and the demonstrated capacity to produce high quality content written for a range of audiences and mediums
  • Strong interpersonal skills including the ability to talk to members of the community and other key stakeholders as required
  • Ability to work independently when required
  • Sound judgement and decisiveness
