Accountabilities:
- Define and drive the overall engineering vision, architecture, and roadmap for large-scale election and civic engagement products.
- Lead development of high-scale systems capable of handling bursty, event-driven traffic patterns during elections.
- Oversee the design and evolution of a trusted, AI-enabled data foundation integrating external authorities, extraction pipelines, and human-in-the-loop validation.
- Partner with Product, Design, and Marketing leadership to align on growth strategy, product execution, and user engagement outcomes.
- Build and scale engineering organizations, including managing managers and developing senior technical leaders.
- Establish engineering best practices around reliability, scalability, observability, and AI-driven development workflows.
- Drive cross-functional alignment across engineering, product, and data teams to ensure cohesive execution of company-wide initiatives.
- Guide technical decision-making at the executive level, balancing innovation, trust, and system integrity.
- Champion AI adoption in engineering workflows, product capabilities, and data systems to accelerate delivery and insight generation.
- 10+ years of software engineering experience, including hands-on architecture and system design.
- 7+ years of engineering leadership experience, including managing managers and leading multi-team organizations.
- Proven experience scaling consumer products across large, diverse, or international user bases.
- Strong background in high-scale system architecture, including handling traffic spikes and distributed system reliability.
- Experience building or leading data platforms, ideally involving complex data integration and governance challenges.
- Demonstrated ability to partner at the executive level across Product, Engineering, and Business functions.
- Strong understanding of AI-enabled systems and experience incorporating AI into product or engineering workflows.
- Ability to operate effectively in fast-paced, ambiguous environments with high public or mission-critical impact.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to influence across technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience in civic tech, public sector systems, or mission-driven consumer platforms is a strong plus.
