Who are we looking for? 

You’ve led high-scale cloud infrastructure services, balancing business impact with deep technical excellence. You know how to grow and guide globally distributed teams while owning the design, delivery, and operation of mission-critical systems. You are technically strong, with experience building services that are highly available, scalable, and resilient — and you pair that with the judgment to balance new feature delivery with incremental improvements. 

This role blends technical depth with organizational leadership. You’ll mentor and scale managers and principal engineers, while also rolling up your sleeves when needed to dive into architecture, design, or execution. If you’re energized by the chance to shape a 0→1 greenfield initiative and define the future of cloud infrastructure, this role offers both the scope and impact to do it. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Define and drive the technical, product, and organizational strategy for one or more charters within Light-weight Infrastructure (Core Compute, Connectivity & State, Observability & Governance). 
  • Lead a diverse, globally distributed team to design and deliver 0→1 services that form the foundational layer of Autonomous OCI. 
  • Hire and develop top engineering talent (both managers and ICs) to build a high-performing team. 
  • Foster a culture of accountability, integrity, and high professional standards. 
  • Communicate effectively across the organization — from engineers to architects to executives. 
  • Mentor teams through architecture and security reviews. 
  • Establish practices that drive continuous improvement in engineering execution, leadership, and technical excellence. 

Qualifications: 

  • Minimum of 8+ years at a senior management level, with experience of managing managers and staff engineers. 
  • 10+ years of relevant distributed systems or cloud services experience. 
  • BS, MS or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Engineering, or similar degree. 
  • Strong business and communication skills. 
  • Exceptional leadership and people management skills. 
  • Solid understanding of core cloud infrastructure, such as compute, virtual networking and storage. 
  • Strong distributed systems architecture and design skills.

US: Hiring Range in USD from: $169,800 to $355,400 per annum. May be eligible for bonus, equity, and compensation deferral.


Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle's differing products, industries and lines of business.
Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

8. Paid time off: Flexible Vacation is provided to all eligible employees assigned to a salaried (non-overtime eligible) position. For employees working at least 35 hours per week, the vacation accrual rate is 13 days annually for the first three years of employment and 18 days annually for subsequent years of employment. Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.
