About the Role
The Data Analyst is a delivery‑enabling analyst role that supports the successful design, development and rollout of DS Foundry governance frameworks. The role has a strong focus on requirements gathering, business analysis and user‑story development, acting as the connective tissue between brands, Governance Platform Owners and engineering teams.
The role is particularly aligned to the delivery of governance capabilities built on Soda (data quality and observability) and Collibra (catalogue, metadata and lineage), ensuring that requirements are well understood, delivery is aligned to wider DS Foundry, and solutions meet brand and DS needs.
Responsibilities
- Lead and support requirements gathering and analysis across DS brands for governance initiatives, working with domain, product and governance stakeholders.
- Translate governance and brand requirements into clear, actionable user stories, including acceptance criteria, dependencies and delivery assumptions.
- Support backlog refinement, prioritization and delivery planning for governance initiatives in collaboration with Foundry Platform Owners, Product Managers and engineers.
- Support analysis of data inventories, metadata completeness and governance coverage to inform delivery priorities and rollout planning.
- Assist with onboarding datasets, domains and teams onto governance platforms, supporting enablement and change adoption.
Requirements
- Solid experience in business analysis, data analysis or delivery‑focused analyst roles within data, analytics or governance environments.
- Demonstrable experience in requirements gathering, user‑story writing and backlog management, using agile or product‑delivery practices.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to structure ambiguous problems and translate them into delivery‑ready artefacts.
- Experience working with data‑related platforms such as data catalogues, data quality or governance tooling (e.g. Collibra, Soda or similar) is desirable.
- Strong attention to detail combined with the ability to work effectively across multiple stakeholders and delivery streams.
Core Competencies
- Business & Requirements Analysis: Elicits, structures and documents requirements to support effective delivery.
- Delivery Focus: Supports teams to move from intent to implementation through clear, high‑quality delivery artefacts.
- Collaboration: Works effectively with product, engineering and governance stakeholders across DS and brands.
- Communication: Clearly explains requirements, analysis and delivery implications to technical and non‑technical audiences.
