Requirements

Minimum requirements: 

• Bachelor’s degree in architecture 
• Minimum of 2-4 years of experience, preferably in residential design
• Strong proficiency in two or more of Architectural Design Software 
  • AutoCAD – strong layer management and drafting precision, knowledge in dynamic blocks, attention to detail and knowledge to drafting standards
  • Revit – project template and project browser organization, basic understanding of Revit Families, basic 3D modelling, knowledge in work sets, sheets, view template materials and graphics 
  • Sketch Up – strong layer management, modelling precision and speed, geometric cleanliness
• Excellent problem solving and critical thinking skills
• Strong work ethic

Preferred requirements:

• Experience in Australian residential building and drafting standards such as NCC Standards, Small Lot Housing Design, Livable Housing Design and basic understanding of local building requirements in states like West Australia, Victoria and New South Wales. Knowledge of current design trends
• Experience in US residential building and drafting. Knowledge in minimum design requirements, building technology and current design trends 
• Strong Rendering, Visualization and Architectural Presentation skills 

Technical requirements: 

• Applicants must qualify to minimum qualification requirements
• Applicants must pass a design exam consisting of two main skill areas: space planning and facade design
• The test will be a take-home exercise with an allotted timeframe of 4 days from the date of receiving the exam

The following are the criteria for applications. They must have an average of at least 3.0 or above. With 5 as the highest and 1 as the lowest rating. 

• Functionality and Flow: Efficiency of layout and logical arrangement of spaces
• Spatial Efficiency: Optimal use of space without overcrowding or wasted areas 
• Aesthetic Appeal: Overall visual harmony, proportion, and creativity of the design 
• Material and Detail Application: Appropriate selection and integration of materials, textures, and details 
• Contextual Integration: Design harmony with surrounding environment and architectural context

Responsibilities

• Designing new residential products following latest design trend and innovation while complying with respective design and building standards 
• Collaborate with design team through design workshops and participate in brainstorming sessions to contribute creative ideas. 
• Ensure all designs adhere to brand guidelines and quality standards 
• Prepare and edit design drawings and presentations ready for production or delivery.
• Organize and maintain design files and asset library
