KBR is looking for SENIOR CONSTRUCTION SUPERVISOR (Instrumentation) with Onshore Site project experience in MEGA EPC projects to be based in Abu Dhabi Site for PMC project.

The Senior Construction Supervisor – Instrumentation is responsible for supervising and coordinating all instrumentation construction activities related to oil & gas, refinery, petrochemical, LNG, and EPC projects. The role ensures that instrumentation installation, testing, calibration, loop checking, and pre-commissioning activities are executed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with project specifications, quality standards, and approved schedules.

Key Responsibilities

Construction Supervision

  • Supervise all instrumentation construction and installation activities at site.
  • Ensure work is carried out in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, procedures, and project standards.
  • Monitor installation of field instruments, analyzers, transmitters, control valves, gauges, switches, and instrumentation systems.
  • Coordinate construction activities with Electrical, Mechanical, Piping, Civil, and Commissioning teams.
  • Verify daily construction progress and adherence to project schedules.

Instrumentation Installation

  • Supervise installation and hook-up of:
    • Pressure, Temperature, Flow, and Level Instruments
    • Control Valves and On-Off Valves
    • Field Junction Boxes (JBs)
    • Local Control Panels
    • Analyzer Systems
    • Fire & Gas Detection Systems
    • DCS, PLC, and SCADA Interfaces
  • Ensure proper routing and installation of instrument tubing, impulse lines, and supports.
  • Monitor cable laying, glanding, termination, and continuity testing activities.

Testing & Commissioning Support

  • Supervise calibration and functional testing of instruments.
  • Coordinate loop checking, logic testing, and system verification activities.
  • Support pre-commissioning and commissioning teams during plant startup activities.
  • Ensure punch-list items are addressed and closed before system handover.
  • Participate in system walkdowns and mechanical completion activities.

Health, Safety & Environment (HSE)

  • Promote and enforce company and client HSE policies.
  • Ensure all instrumentation activities are conducted safely and in compliance with permit-to-work systems.
  • Conduct toolbox talks, safety audits, and site inspections.
  • Monitor compliance during energized work, confined space entry, work at height, and hazardous area activities.
  • Immediately intervene and rectify unsafe conditions or practices.

Quality Assurance & Control

  • Ensure installations comply with project specifications, datasheets, and international standards.
  • Coordinate inspections with QA/QC and client representatives.
  • Verify completion of inspection checklists, test records, and quality documentation.
  • Monitor NCRs, site observations, and corrective actions.
  • Ensure proper documentation and turnover dossiers are maintained.

Planning & Coordination

  • Review daily and weekly work plans.
  • Coordinate manpower, equipment, and material requirements.
  • Monitor construction progress against approved schedules.
  • Assist in identifying resource constraints and mitigation strategies.
  • Participate in progress review meetings with contractors and project management.

Documentation & Reporting

  • Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports.
  • Maintain records of construction activities, inspections, testing, and completions.
  • Monitor completion status and turnover packages for commissioning.
  • Ensure as-built documentation is updated and maintained.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Instrumentation Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Electrical & Instrumentation Engineering, or related discipline.
  • Additional technical certifications in Instrumentation, Control Systems, or Commissioning are preferred.
  • HSE certifications such as NEBOSH, IOSH, or OSHA are advantageous.

Experience

  • Minimum 10–15 years of experience in Instrumentation Construction within Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Refinery, LNG, or EPC projects.
  • Minimum 5 years in a Senior Supervisory or Lead Instrumentation Construction role.

    • Pipeline and Terminal Projects
    • Brownfield and Greenfield Developments
  • Experience working on projects for ADNOC, Saudi Aramco, QatarEnergy, PDO, Shell, BP, ExxonMobil, TotalEnergies, or similar operators is preferred.
