The role requires exceptional precision, speed, and editorial judgment to ensure accuracy and relevance for a highly specialized legal audience. Accountabilities:

    • Triage and analyze federal appellate opinions and orders daily, identifying cases with business and legal significance across areas such as securities, antitrust, labor and employment, intellectual property, arbitration, class actions, and bankruptcy.
    • Track and synthesize Supreme Court activity, including relists, cert denials, en banc grants, dissents, and emerging circuit splits relevant to commercial litigation and appellate practice.
    • Produce and publish a daily newsletter by 11am ET on weekdays, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and adherence to editorial standards.
    • Conduct rigorous fact-checking and citation verification to maintain newsroom-quality legal reporting, while handling corrections transparently and promptly.
    • Develop and refine editorial workflows, including alert systems, research processes, and automation tools to ensure comprehensive and efficient daily coverage.
    • Collaborate on improving content structure, templates, and distribution methods to enhance readability and audience engagement.
    • Ensure consistent prioritization of legally and commercially relevant developments for a specialized legal readership.
    • Requirements:

      • Juris Doctor (J.D.) required; active bar membership preferred.
      • 1–4+ years of experience in commercial litigation, appellate practice, or a federal judicial clerkship.
      • Strong ability to rapidly read, interpret, and synthesize complex legal decisions into clear, accurate summaries for non-legal or cross-disciplinary audiences.
      • Excellent written communication skills with a strong editorial instinct for clarity, precision, and tone.
      • Proven ability to work independently in a remote, deadline-driven environment with strong time management and reliability.
      • Familiarity with federal appellate systems and legal research tools is highly desirable.
      • Strong interest or background in areas such as securities, antitrust, labor and employment, intellectual property, arbitration, class actions, or bankruptcy.
