Associate, Private Infrastructure
The Associate, Private Infrastructure job supports portfolio management and surveillance activities across the firm's existing private equity and equity-like investment portfolios such as infrastructure funds, co-investments, direct equity, and preferred equity, as well as origination activities for new investments.

Key Responsibilities and Duties
  • Assist in underwriting and oversight of direct equity and equity-like investments by working with senior deal team members to execute on due diligence including modeling and drafting investment committee materials. Drive portfolio management by responding to external and internal business partners, preparing board materials and presentations, assisting various business partners to address valuation, accounting, legal and compliance deliverables and other quantitative and qualitative analysis on an ad-hoc basis.
  • Support the internal Sales and Product team’s third-party distribution efforts for Nuveen’s private infrastructure investments.
  • Assist in screening, underwriting and structuring limited partnership commitments with external infrastructure fund managers; Underwriting include sector analysis, fund manager comparisons, track record assessment to ensure investments meet investment strategy criteria; Work with senior deal team members to help source, select, and underwrite co-investments across all infrastructure subsectors.
  • Perform quantitative and qualitative analysis on existing infrastructure portfolio investments.
  • Assist in portfolio activities including portfolio reviews, market research, rating agency analysis, sponsor evaluation, and investment modifications.
  • Assist in researching and analyzing both macro and portfolio trends to help drive investment goals and portfolio construction by selecting and executing direct equity, co-investment, private equity fund, and preferred equity investments. Multi-sector infrastructure strategy includes investments in transportation, transmission, renewable energy, storage, social infrastructure (campus energy, student housing, healthcare, etc.) and digital infrastructure (data centers, fiber optic networks, towers, DNS, etc.).
  • Work with internal business partners to ensure all legal, compliance, and accounting requirements are met.
  • Prepare memoranda and other materials used to support investment and portfolio recommendations and to communicate with internal business partners and external clients.
  • Closely monitor the performance of existing portfolio investments and manage regular communication with sponsors, investment partners, and banking intermediaries.
  • Maintain investment performance databases and files.
Educational Requirements
  • University (Degree) Preferred
