- Logistics operations management:
- Oversees inbound receiving, warehouse transfers, production support, outbound shipping, returns, and reverse logistics to ensure smooth material flow between suppliers, warehouses, production, and shipment points.
- Customs declaration and clearance:
- Responsible for accurate, complete, and timely import/export customs declarations, reviewing declaration data, managing documentation, and resolving clearance delays to minimize production impact.
- Trade compliance and bonded material governance:
- Ensures site compliance with customs regulations and corporate policies, manages customs e-book/manual operations, controls bonded and non-bonded material movements, and collaborates with global trade compliance teams.
- Audit readiness and risk management:
- Acts as the primary contact for customs audits and government inquiries, coordinates audit responses, maintains audit-ready records, identifies risks, and leads corrective actions to reduce penalties and compliance exposure.
- Data accuracy and process improvement:
- Ensures alignment of data across SAP, customs records, inventory, and financial documents, drives regular reconciliations, and promotes improvements in logistics and customs workflows through SOPs and system enhancements.
- People leadership:
- Leads and develops the logistics and customs team, provides training, collaborates closely with internal departments and external partners, and fosters a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
- Key performance indicators:
- Measures success through customs clearance cycle times, declaration accuracy, e-book balance accuracy, zero avoidable penalties, data alignment, logistics cost and performance, and timely closure of corrective actions.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in relevant fields, minimum eight years of experience in logistics, customs, and trade compliance, strong knowledge of China customs regulations and customs systems proficiency.
- Experience with bonded factory operations and cross-border flows, familiarity with HS classification and compliance certifications, ability to balance operational speed with compliance, proactive risk management, and capability to operate in matrix environments.
- Manufacturing environment experience, SAP and bilingual is an advantage.
