What You Will Do
- Provide executive-level leadership for a portfolio of major construction programs, including mission-critical facilities, laboratories, cleanrooms, containment suites, technical spaces, and associated infrastructure across a campus.
- Serve as the subject matter expert for complex construction programs requiring rigorous commissioning, quality assurance, operational readiness, and deployment of critical systems.
- Set strategic direction and governance for the campus project portfolio, partnering with Project Development, Delivery, Sponsors, Operations, and regional leadership to achieve business objectives.
- Lead the campus Project Management Office (PMO), ensuring compliance with contract requirements, project controls, reporting standards, and enterprise governance processes.
- Anticipate, escalate, and mitigate risks that could impact project schedules, budgets, quality, safety, or operational readiness; drive issues to resolution with executive-level visibility.
- Oversee portfolio risk management, directing recovery and remediation plans to protect project outcomes and performance metrics related to scope, schedule, cost, and quality.
- Ensure accurate, timely, and actionable reporting of portfolio performance to Executive Management, including financial performance, milestone achievement, resource utilization, and risk management.
- Drive client relationship management and business development efforts, identifying opportunities to expand services, deepen partnerships, and enhance customer satisfaction through exceptional delivery.
- Lead strategic vendor and subcontractor relationships, selecting qualified partners and aligning them with project goals, schedules, and performance expectations.
- Govern program financials at the campus level, including budgeting, forecasting, cost controls, progress billings, and payables.
- Ensure project documentation and controls meet contractual, operational, and organizational requirements while supporting audits, reviews, and executive reporting needs.
- Continually seek opportunities to improve project delivery processes, operational efficiency, customer satisfaction, and overall competitive positioning.
What You Will Need to Be Successful
Required
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Architecture, Business Management, or a related field.
- 15+ years of Project or Program Management experience, including large-scale capital construction projects (minimum $10M per project; portfolio-level responsibility preferred).
- Demonstrated success delivering complex, multi-site construction programs involving mission-critical facilities, laboratories, advanced manufacturing, higher education, healthcare, data centers, industrial facilities, or other technically complex environments.
- Strong understanding of contract administration, project accounting, portfolio management, and construction project controls.
- Exceptional executive communication skills, with proven ability to present to senior leadership, clients, and diverse stakeholder groups.
- Proven ability to lead and align cross-functional teams including Owners, Architects, Engineers, Consultants, Contractors, and Operations teams.
- Proficiency with project management and scheduling tools (Primavera P6, MS Project) and advanced Microsoft Office skills, including development of executive dashboards and presentations.
- Strong understanding of commissioning, quality management, risk management, project controls, and operational readiness processes.
- Ability to establish and maintain professional relationships with key stakeholders, clients, vendors, and subcontractors.
- Willingness to travel and operate across multiple sites as required.
Preferred
- Master's degree.
- PMP certification or equivalent project management credential.
- Experience leading major capital programs involving mission-critical facilities, laboratories, cleanrooms, advanced manufacturing facilities, data centers, healthcare campuses, or other highly technical environments.
- Experience delivering programs requiring complex stakeholder management, rigorous quality standards, and integrated project controls.
- Experience implementing continuous improvement initiatives across large project portfolios.
- Demonstrated success managing portfolios within fast-paced, high-growth, or technically complex construction environments.
HIRING SALARY RANGE: $150,000 – 170,000. USD Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data. This position includes a competitive benefits package.
