About the Role

As a Senior Analyst, Planning & Inventory Operations – Modern System Activation & Support, you will play a critical role in the modernization of Target's Planning & Inventory Management capabilities. You will help drive the successful activation, adoption, and continuous improvement of modern inventory management systems by partnering closely with Core Inventory Management (IM) teams, Product, Data, and Operations partners.

In this role, you will serve as both a change leader and operational partner, guiding teams through system activation, supporting post-launch stabilization, and identifying enhancements that improve business processes and user experience. You'll translate operational needs into scalable solutions while helping teams maximize the value of modern inventory capabilities.

Success in this role requires strong analytical thinking, cross-functional collaboration, change management, and the ability to influence partners across multiple organizations.

Core Responsibilities

  • Lead Core Inventory Management teams through modern inventory system activation, including pre-activation readiness, go-live support, and post-activation stabilization.
  • Partner directly with Core IM teams to develop activation strategies that enable them to achieve business goals and key performance indicators within modern inventory systems.
  • Drive adoption of modern planning and inventory capabilities by identifying opportunities to improve processes, increase user engagement, and enhance operational effectiveness.
  • Partner with Product, Core IM, and IM Operations teams to identify, prioritize, and implement system enhancements that improve business outcomes.
  • Develop and document cross-functional business processes, standard operating procedures, training materials, and change management plans that support successful modernization efforts.
  • Collaborate with Product teams to translate operational feedback into future system capabilities and product enhancements.
  • Build strong partnerships across Inventory Management, Product, Operations, and Technology organizations, regularly influencing leaders through the Senior Director level.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert and advocate for modern inventory systems, helping build excitement, confidence, and adoption across the Planning & Inventory Management organization.

About You

  • Four-year degree or equivalent experience
  • 2+ years of experience in Supply Chain, Inventory Management, Product Management, Merchandising, or related business functions
  • Working knowledge of inventory management, replenishment systems, and supply chain planning processes
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret data and drive actionable insights
  • Experience leading cross-functional initiatives, projects, or product enhancements
  • Strong project management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to influence diverse stakeholders
  • Demonstrated ability to build collaborative relationships across teams and organizational levels
  • Curious mindset with a passion for continuous learning, innovation, and process improvement
  • Self-starter who takes initiative and thrives with minimal direction
  • Comfortable navigating ambiguity and adapting to changing business priorities
  • Proven ability to deliver high-quality work under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment

This position will require in office presence in Minneapolis, Minnesota Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday each week, and can work from home on Fridays.
