In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
- Drive business growth by proactively identifying, researching, and converting new sales opportunities within your assigned territory and market segments.
- Execute targeted account strategies by developing and implementing structured account plans that maximise revenue from high-potential prospects.
- Build strong customer relationships that enable a deep understanding of client needs, business models, and decision-making processes.
- Position tailored Cummins solutions by aligning customer priorities with value-driven offerings and clearly articulating the competitive advantage.
- Achieve and exceed sales targets through disciplined pipeline management, effective forecasting, and consistent use of the Cummins Sales Process.
- Enhance customer satisfaction and retention by responding promptly to concerns and maintaining ongoing engagement to drive repeat business.
- Strengthen financial performance by supporting collections, managing receivables, and collaborating with stakeholders to resolve overdue accounts.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to balance customer expectations with inventory, service, and delivery capabilities while ensuring accurate CRM reporting and sales tracking.
To be successful in this role you will need the following:
- Strong sales and relationship management skills to identify opportunities, build trust with customers, and consistently achieve or exceed targets.
- Effective communication and negotiation ability to engage both operational teams and key decision-makers, and clearly convey complex solutions.
- Deep understanding of the Botswana market and its key industries (mining, industrial, commercial) to position solutions strategically.
- Proficiency in CRM tools, forecasting, and pipeline management to maintain accurate data, track performance, and drive informed sales decisions.
- Structured account planning and strategic agility to set clear objectives, monitor progress, adapt to customer needs, and continuously optimise sales execution.
Education/ Experience
- Diploma or Degree in Business, Sales, Engineering, Marketing, or a related field.
- Relevant experience in sales, account management, or business development, preferably in an industrial, mining, automotive, or power solutions environment.
- This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
