Join Oshkosh Aerotech as a Machine Repair Technician Level 3, leading advanced troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of airport facilities and related electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and building systems. In this senior technical role, you'll lead preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance efforts, provide technical guidance to team members, and help ensure safe, reliable, and efficient facility operations. YOUR IMPACT
These duties are not meant to be all-inclusive and other duties may be assigned.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, maintain, and repair airport facilities and building systems, including electrical, mechanical, plumbing, HVAC, and other infrastructure components.
- Perform scheduled, unscheduled, and emergency maintenance while leading preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities.
- Lead and delegate maintenance tasks while communicating professionally with customers, airport personnel, and team members.
- Repair or replace facility equipment and components, interpret blueprints, technical manuals, and work orders to ensure accurate and efficient repairs.
- Perform inspections and identify potential maintenance issues before they impact operations.
- Accurately document maintenance activities in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) and utilize system data to improve equipment reliability.
- Communicate critical equipment conditions and operational updates to supervisors and site leadership.
- Safely operate forklifts, lifts, golf carts, company vehicles, and other maintenance equipment as required.
- Support day-to-day facility operations by responding to service requests and minimizing equipment downtime.
- Comply with all company safety policies, procedures, and required training.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Valid Driver's License.
- Ability to obtain necessary airport security clearance.
- Ability to work 1st, 2nd, or 3rd shift, including weekends and holidays.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Five (5) or more years of experience in facilities, industrial, commercial, or maintenance operations.
- Strong mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and plumbing troubleshooting skills.
- Experience maintaining commercial or industrial facilities.
- Ability to read blueprints, electrical schematics, and technical drawings.
- Experience with HVAC systems, electrical distribution, lighting, doors, plumbing systems, and general building maintenance.
- Familiarity with airport operations and airport maintenance environments.
- Experience using Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word and Excel.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of the Machine Repair Technician Level 3, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, walk, use hands and fingers to handle or feel objects, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and communicate effectively. The employee is frequently required to climb ladders, work at heights, balance, and work in confined spaces. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. This position requires the ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions on an active airport environment. Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Good hand-eye coordination is required.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
The work environment is similar to an active airport operation with vehicular traffic and heavy equipment. The employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, elevated work areas, outdoor weather conditions, fumes, airborne particles, vibration, and loud noise. Employees may work on airport ramps around aircraft, in mechanical rooms, utility spaces, maintenance shops, rooftops, and other facility environments while supporting critical airport infrastructure.
