HappyCo’s software enables Happy Force maintenance technicians to assist residents remotely via text messaging. Happy Force technicians are elevating the maintenance experience for residents in multifamily apartments and houses across the country—without carrying tools, running all over properties, or commuting in traffic.
The Position
We’re looking for motivated, experienced, and tech-savvy Maintenance Technicians to join our Happy Force team and assist residents remotely.
Virtual Maintenance Technicians are no different than on-site maintenance technicians at apartment communities—except you get to work from home. As a Virtual Technician, you must have experience in on-site multifamily maintenance and the ability to understand and troubleshoot a variety of issues reported by residents living in single-family, student, and multifamily communities.
Happy Force Virtual Technician assist on-site teams by prioritizing issues and providing clear, step-by-step guidance through messaging to help residents resolve basic maintenance concerns.Key Responsibilities and Expected Outcomes
Provide residents of multifamily, single-family, and student housing with an exceptional level of service in every interaction
Use Happy Force software to review, triage, and respond to incoming maintenance tickets
Coach residents through basic maintenance fixes via SMS and written messaging, following Happy Force standard operating procedures
Collect relevant information from residents to support on-site teams when escalation is required
Communicate day-to-day with property teams regarding operations, updates, and escalations
Guide residents through mitigation steps for maintenance issues to help prevent property damage
Participate in feedback sessions related to product use and process improvements
Maintain flexibility and willingness to work different shifts as needed
What you could expect day-to-day
Process incoming work orders through completion
Triage and prioritize maintenance requests submitted through messaging
Communicate with residents primarily via text-based channels
Perform discovery and troubleshoot basic maintenance issues remotely
Collaborate with other Happy Force Technicians, Leads, and corporate team members
Collaborate daily with other Virtual Maintenance Technicians and Leads via Zoom, sharing knowledge, problem-solving complex issues, and supporting one another in real time
What we think you need to be successful
Minimum of 5 years of on-site residential maintenance experience
Fluent written English language and grammar skills
Basic computer skills; experience with tools like Google Docs or a willingness to learn
Strong understanding of the relationship between residents, property management, and maintenance teams
Ability to accurately assess maintenance issue types and priority levels
Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve basic maintenance issues efficiently
An upbeat, empathetic personality with a genuine desire to help others
