Seasonal Summer Childcare Provider in the San Francisco area (location may vary depending on the day).

The Role

We are looking for kind, motivated, and reliable childcare providers to join our summer care team in the San Francisco area. You’ll step in to care for children in their own homes during summer camp closures, holidays, or parents' busy work weeks—keeping the day safe, structured, and fun.

Schedule — Please Read Before Applying

This is a seasonal, W-2 summer position (until August 31st) with fixed schedules built around our local employer needs. A few things to understand upfront:

  • You will be assigned to a predictable weekly schedule of shifts to support our corporate clients in the area.
  • Typical shift windows for this area fall between Monday–Friday between the hours of 8:00 am and 6:00 pm.
  • Consistent attendance and punctuality are strict requirements for this role, as our families depend on us to get to work.

What You'll Do

  • Lead fun, age-appropriate summer activities and keep kids actively engaged and off their screens.
  • Ensure the physical safety and emotional wellbeing of children inside the client’s home.
  • Assist with basic daily routines including meal preparation, nap times, and cleaning up after activities.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with parents upon arrival and wrap-up.
  • Serve as a trusted, professional face of Patch throughout every assigned shift.
  • Community Outreach: Act as a brand ambassador by occasionally visiting local community spots, campus events, or partner locations to distribute materials and spread the word about Patch and our care network.

Basic Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1+ year of verifiable experience in childcare (babysitting, nannying, camp counseling, daycare, or volunteering all count).
  • Strong communication skills and a strict commitment to schedule reliability.
  • Comfort using digital tools and mobile apps for schedule management and team check-ins.
  • Trust & Safety Compliance: Any job offer is contingent upon passing our standard trust and safety vetting, including reference checks and a comprehensive post-offer criminal background check/fingerprinting in compliance with the California Fair Chance Act.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience caring for multi-age sibling groups.
  • Educational background or current coursework in Early Childhood Education, Social Work, Nursing, or a related field.
  • Current First Aid & CPR certification (or willingness to complete it before your start date).

Physical Requirements

This role requires active, hands-on engagement throughout the shift—including the ability to lift children up to 40 lbs, sit and move at floor level, and maintain constant, attentive supervision of children indoors and outdoors.

Compensation & Benefits

  • $22-$25/hour starting (Base pay starts at $22/hr to meet local California standards, with higher rates scaling based on location, experience, and family needs).
  • Official W-2 Status: Consistent weekly direct deposit with all standard payroll taxes automatically handled.
  • California Paid Sick Leave: Accrued paid sick time in accordance with state law.
  • Cell Phone Stipend: $5/month for the months in which you work
