About the role: What's in the Box
‘De Kas’ in Bleiswijk is HelloFresh's flagship fulfilment site in the Netherlands, and everything that happens here directly determines whether thousands of meal boxes leave on time, complete, and at cost.
As Head of Warehouse Operations (internally called 'Warehouse Manager'), you own the pre-production operation: the critical phase that makes assembly possible. Your three teams — expedition, internal transport and reverse logistics — ensure the right products are in the right place at the right time, so that production can start on schedule and run without interruption. You'll be part of the Production Leadership Team (PLT), which brings together multiple teams that collectively shape the strategy and direction of the fulfilment centre, giving you a genuine seat at the table and a direct line of influence on how this site evolves.
What you’ll do: The Recipe
- Lead the full pre-production operation across three departments: expedition (inbound receiving), internal transport and reverse logistics; keeping product flow smooth, stock accurate and the yard running like clockwork
- Drive performance through KPIs, using minutes-per-box as your primary lens, and translate operational data into fast, grounded decisions your team can act on
- Coach, challenge and develop a team of team leads and ~100 warehouse staff, building a culture of ownership, accountability and continuous improvement
- Hold the line on safety by ensuring compliance is lived on the floor, not just documented, and that every team member goes home safe
- Own WMS governance and data quality, so that every handover to the production and assembly teams rests on a reliable foundation
- Contribute to site strategy as an active member of the Production Leadership Team, collaborating with PLT colleagues across FSQA, HSE, HR, and Production to set direction
- Take the lead on site-level projects (transitions, WMS developments, process redesigns) when the business needs someone who can both think and execute
What you’ll bring: The Ingredients
- Proven experience managing warehouse or logistics operations at scale — you've been accountable for real volume and know what it takes to keep a high-throughput site running ⭐
- Strong people leadership: you build teams, not just headcounts, and you're comfortable setting high standards and having honest conversations ⭐
- Hands-on familiarity with a Warehouse Management System — you know how to get the most out of it and where its blind spots are
- An analytical mindset with the ability to spot patterns quickly and move from insight to action without losing momentum
- Fluency in both Dutch and English, with the communication skills to lead diverse teams and collaborate across international stakeholders
- A background in e-commerce, food or FMCG is a genuine advantage — fast-moving environments are where you do your best work
