About Kernel

Kernel provides crazy fast, open source infrastructure for AI agents to use the internet. Our API allows developers to instantly spin up secure browsers and automate anything on the web. We handle all the hard problems of running browser-based agents in production: agents x user credentials, autoscaling, bot detection, and human-in-the-loop workflows.

We’re used by teams at Cash App, Vercel, Framer, and over 5000 developers for tasks like QA automation, RPA, virtual assistants, and CUA RL environments. We've raised $22M from Accel, YCombinator, Vercel, Paul Graham, Solomon Hykes (Docker), David Cramer (Sentry), Charlie Marsh (Astral), and more.

About the role

We're hiring our founding marketer. Some of our marketing is already working well and just needs an owner to take it further. Some of our marketing motion doesn't exist yet. You'll be responsible for both: figuring out what Kernel needs next, and actually making it.

What you'll do

  • Plan and run product launches, from developing a strategy to creating visual assets and writing the copy

  • Develop content that speaks to developers, like case studies, technical deep dives, and benchmarks

  • Talk to customers regularly, feed what you're hearing from the market back to the team, and turn what you learn into better positioning and content

  • Build sales enablement material like decks and one-pagers

  • Experiment, look at what worked, and cut what didn't

  • Own our presence on X and LinkedIn, and figure out where else developers are paying attention

What we're looking for

  • 5+ years of marketing experience, including product marketing plus depth in at least one other area like content or growth

  • Startup experience at a Series A–C company, ideally 0 → 1, and you want to do it again

  • A track record of developing creative concepts that resonate with developers or technical buyers, and an understanding of why that's different from marketing to everyone else

  • Comfortable being hands-on: writing the copy, running the campaign, checking if it worked

  • A creative vision for content and visuals that excite developers

  • Bias to action, interest in building lightweight processes, genuinely energized by ambiguity

  • Experience using AI every day in your normal flow of work

  • Bonus points:

    • You have devtools experience, or you're a developer yourself

    • Experience with video filming and editing (or interest in learning)
