The Position

Job Overview
The Facilities Engineer is responsible for delivering engineering projects, coordinating technical
maintenance activities, and ensuring the reliable operation of building systems and critical
utilities at the Roche Sant Cugat site.
Reporting to the Lead HARD Services, the role acts as the technical interface between Roche
and external service providers, ensuring maintenance activities, engineering projects,
compliance requirements, and technical documentation are executed safely, efficiently, and in
accordance with Roche standards.
The position combines technical expertise with strong project coordination and stakeholder
management, focusing on execution rather than strategic ownership.
 

Key Responsibilities
● Manage and deliver engineering and automation projects from start to finish, manage
small- and medium-sized engineering and infrastructure projects and support larger
CAPEX initiatives led by the Lead HARD Services. You will be responsible for defining
project scope, tracking timelines, managing risks, and ensuring a structured handover to
operations. Prepare and maintain critical project documentation.
● Coordinate the daily activities of technical contractors, monitor service performance
against established KPIs, and ensure accurate reporting through Roche maintenance
systems. . You will integrate contractors into Roche’s tools and dashboards, making sure
they report standardized, high-quality maintenance metrics to guarantee reliable
operational data.
● Ensure audit readiness and regulatory compliance: Support and coordinate technical
audits and official inspections (including APQ, Low Voltage, and Fire Protection/PCI).
Maintain all maintenance records, certifications, and technical documentation fully
organized, updated, and ready for review and follow up corrective actions arising from
audits and inspections until closure.
● Support sustainability and digital transformation: Contribute to energy-saving and
carbon-reduction initiatives through efficient asset management, maximizing the use of
digital tools to enable data-driven decision-making.
● Maintain collaborative and proactive communication with internal stakeholders: Build
strong, trust relationships across departments. Show active readiness to support other
areas, and proactively update team leaders before technical interventions or incidents
impact their daily operations.
● Oversee daily technical operations and asset maintenance: Coordinate preventive,
predictive and corrective maintenance activities performed by external service providers,

ensuring asset availability, technical quality, safety and regulatory compliance. for all
building utilities (HVAC, electricity, water, and gas) and critical automated logistics
assets to ensure maximum operational availability and safety.
● Maintain the integrity of asset and maintenance data within the CMMS, ensuring work
orders, preventive maintenance plans, spare parts information and technical
documentation remain accurate and up to date.
● Support root cause investigations for technical failures, proposing and implementing
corrective and preventive actions to improve asset reliability.

Qualifications &Experience
Must have requirements
● Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or
Automation).
● 5–7 years of experience in Engineering, Facilities Management, or Project Management.
● Strong background in managing technical and engineering projects including the use of
project tracking methodologies or tools.
● Good understanding of local regulations and official codes applicable to building and
industrial installations.
● Good communication skills in English and Spanish.
● Solution-oriented approach, a constructive and positive attitude, and the ability to build
trust and communicate clearly with internal clients.
