Accountabilities:
- Oversee development teams supporting Guidewire, P&C legacy systems, Life & Retirement, Supplemental & Group, Distribution, and corporate applications.
- Drive enterprise-wide modernization initiatives, reducing technical debt and transitioning legacy systems toward cloud-native architectures.
- Own roadmap planning and prioritization across multiple business units with competing needs and dependencies.
- Establish scalable engineering practices, delivery standards, and governance frameworks to improve execution consistency.
- Partner with business and technology leaders to translate strategic objectives into delivery plans and measurable outcomes.
- Guide AI adoption and modernization strategies, including integration of AI-powered applications and developer productivity tools.
- Ensure operational excellence across a 30+ person organization, including both engineering managers and individual contributors.
- 12+ years of application development or engineering leadership experience, including senior management of large teams.
- Proven experience leading 30+ person development organizations with multiple engineering managers.
- Strong background in application architecture, cloud platforms, and modern software engineering practices.
- Hands-on experience with Guidewire or comparable P&C insurance platforms strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated success leading large-scale legacy modernization and transformation programs.
- Experience building and delivering AI-powered applications, not just theoretical AI knowledge.
- Familiarity with insurance systems (policy, claims, billing) across P&C and Life domains is a strong plus.
- Experience with low-code/no-code platforms (e.g., Power Platform, Mendix, OutSystems) is an advantage.
- Strong executive communication skills with the ability to influence senior stakeholders across business units.
- Proven ability to lead through ambiguity, manage competing priorities, and develop high-performing engineering leaders.
