Contract type: Full-time, permanent

Full Time: Flexible Work Arrangement - minimum of 3 days per week on site.

Location: Flexible between the sites of Parkmore, Mervue & Athlone, Ireland.

As IT Manager within our Global IT function supporting Manufacturing Global Operations and Supply Chain you will lead with purpose, breaking down barriers to innovation in a more connected, compassionate world.

We are looking for an experienced IT Manager to lead a team delivering reliable, secure and scalable IT services that support both our business and our patients.

You will own end‑to‑end service delivery for your sites, drive continuous improvement, and partner closely with business and functional stakeholders.

As a people manager, you will set clear priorities, develop talent, and ensure your team meets performance and compliance expectations with responsibility for three manufacturing sites, Parkmore, Mervue and Athlone within our Ireland Campus.

A Day in The Life Of:

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned;

As the IT Manager for Ireland, you will be responsible for providing both strategic and day to day operational IT leadership across three manufacturing facilities in Ireland.

This role works closely with global IT and cross-functional teams to implement and maintain IT solutions ensuring delivery, reliability, security, and continuous improvement of IT systems that support multiple functions including manufacturing operations, quality, supply chain, R&D and regulatory.

The role partners with site leadership teams, global IT teams, and external vendors to align technology solutions with business and operational priorities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage an IT team, providing direction, coaching, and performance management, providing day-to-day work direction for the team, focused on maintaining their steady workflow, resource capacity allocation and productivity.

  • Oversee IT Day‑to‑day operations, incident and problem management, and service improvements

  • Act as a trusted advisor to business leaders on the practical application of AI, digitalisation, hyperautomation and related technologies.

  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, quality, compliance, and user experience utilising AI tools and processes, translating technical concepts into clear business language for non-technical stakeholders.

  • Lead site level IT Mfg. operations, coordinating the delivery of services to site user groups and ensures that the business IT service is uninterrupted.

  • Participate in site level strategy aligned with GOSC (Global Operations and Supply Chain), Global IT, HR and Manufacturing AI and Digital strategy.

  • Act as the primary IT partner for site leadership teams across all three Irish manufacturing sites.

  • Translate business and operational needs into scalable IT solutions and roadmaps.

  • Partner with the applicable COEs to ensure availability, performance, and lifecycle management of manufacturing IT systems, including MES, labelling, ERP, infrastructure, and shop floor applications.

  • Drive standardization and harmonization of IT solutions across the three sites.

  • Ensure robust disaster recovery, business continuity, and cybersecurity controls are in place.

  • Manage site IT budgets, forecasts, and capital planning for site-based initiatives.

  • Support talent development and succession planning within the IT organization.

  • Conducting performance reviews and regular staff 1:1s to guide performance management and employee development.

  • Lead and support IT components of manufacturing projects, including new product introductions, site expansions, and process improvements.

  • Ensure effective change management, risk mitigation, and stakeholder communication.

  • Champion continuous improvement, programmatic savings, automation, and digital manufacturing initiatives.

Compliance & Risk Management

  • Ensure IT systems meet internal policies, cybersecurity standards, and regulatory requirements.

  • Partner with Quality, Regulatory, and Audit teams to support inspections and audits.

  • Proactively identify and mitigate IT and operational risks.

Key Skills & Experience

  • Minimum NFQ level 8 Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Engineering, Computer Science, or related discipline.

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in IT, including experience in a team lead or manager position, including experience supporting manufacturing or regulated environments.

  • Or Master’s degree with a minimum of 3 years relevant experience

Functional skills:

  • Knowledge of Information Systems, Execution of Business Processes, Operational Planning, IT Service or Process Management, Metric and SLA Monitoring.  Strong understanding of manufacturing IT environments and operational technology.

  • Knowledge of and experience working with teams supporting MES, infrastructure, networks, cybersecurity, and validated systems.

Management skills:

  • Management of People & Resources, Critical Thinking, Project Management, Collaboration and Productivity Software, Effective Communication, and Stakeholder Management.

  • Proven ability to manage complex, multi-site IT operations.

  • Demonstrated problem-solving, decision-making, and change leadership capabilities.

  • Excellent stakeholder management, communication skills and influencing skills, ability to work with global teams.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in medical device, pharmaceutical, or other highly regulated industries.

  • Knowledge of AI tools (inc. CoPilot) & digital manufacturing, Industry 4.0, or smart factory initiatives.

  • Familiarity with ITIL, project management methodologies, and cybersecurity frameworks.

Physical & Travel Requirements

  • Ability to travel regularly between the three Irish manufacturing sites.

  • Occasional international travel as required.
