Description:

Position Purpose:

Performs a variety of duties in and around the buildings of the Hospital complex to include installation, preventative maintenance and repair of hospital machinery and mechanical equipment according to Hospital priorities and ensure safe operations.

What you will do:

  • Performs a variety of duties that include installation, operation, preventative maintenance, and repair of mechanical systems and equipment in a timely, safe, and professional manner.

  • Responds to emergency calls, as necessary.

  • Maintains all tools and equipment properly and inspects for proper function prior to use.

  • Maintains work area in a clean and neat manner according to department standards.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required. Requires a minimum of one (1) year of experience in minor equipment repair and preventative maintenance.

  • Requires the ability to resolve simple problems involving math and technical skills.

  • Requires the ability to understand and respond to simple written or verbal instructions.

  • Occasional contact with patients, visitors, and staff, which requires tact and courtesy.

  • Requires the ability to read and write English.

Physical and Mental Effort:

  • Prolonged standing and walking on a daily basis.

  • Requires independently lifting objects up to 100 lbs. and bending and stooping on a regular basis.

  • Requires climbing – ladders, scaffolding, stairs or ramps requiring a sense of balance to prevent falls.

  • Requires the ability to reach and grasp objects

  • Requires the ability to reach and grasp objects.

  • Regular exposure to unpleasant noise and odors and contagious disease, which requires routine precautions.

  • Regular exposure to injury (cuts, bruises, and strains) associated with improper safety practices in use of equipment and tools.

  • Occasional work stress due to periodic or cyclical workload and unwelcome interruptions.

  • Must be willing and able to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as gloves, masks, eye and ear protection and other equipment as needed.
