In addition to an online store, Rexel USA has a distribution network of over 460 warehouse storefront locations throughout the U.S.Job DescriptionWe are looking for an Industrial Automation Field Service Technician to join our Rexel USA team in Denver, CO! Industrial Automation Field Service Technician or Senior level: Employee’s level and pay will be dependent on their level of experience, knowledge, and capabilities. Summary: The Industrial Automation Field Service Technician is responsible for providing on‑site services to support process and discrete manufacturing operations. Specifically, services related to evaluating installed automation hardware/software, assessing networked equipment, troubleshooting systems, and identifying modernization opportunities. Support activities may include programming, drive startups, enhancing system reliability, and resolving emergency issues. What You'll Do:Develop, modify, and troubleshoot programs in modern tag‑based PLC environments across major automation platformsApply a strong understanding of data types, structures, UDTs, arrays, and aliasing to build scalable and maintainable automation logicDesign and organize program architecture using modular, structured programming practices (e.g., routines, function blocks, state logic, reusable code modules)Implement best practices for code readability, version control, and documentation to support long‑term system reliabilityManage diagnosing logic, communication, and I/O issues using online monitoring, data tracing, and system diagnostics toolsAct as representative of Rexel while performing services on mission critical customer equipment and applicationsDevelop relationships with key customer stakeholdersPresent findings to technical and non-technical audiencesArticulate the value of services offerings to customers during the lifecycle of the engagementWork with customers to determine customer problems, needs and goals thereby identifying opportunities for products and services that may be outside of the scope of your original engagementDocument work activities in appropriate, professional report formatAssist in the clarification and resolution of customer issuesCommunicate needs and issues with management to avoid problems before they ariseManage time in such a way that scheduling issues do not ariseWork positively in a team-based environment that is in continuous movementExecute documented procedures on-site at customer facilitiesPerform onsite collection of current installed base through site walk-through and use of data collection tools in an industrial manufacturing environmentDemonstrate core competency around troubleshooting Rockwell Automation products and associated manufacturing technologyOther duties as assigned Job Duties Disclaimer: The information contained in this job description is intended to describe the essential job functions required of those assigned to this job.
