What You Will Do:

The Systems Integration & Avionics Engineer provides acquisition engineering, systems engineering, and avionics engineering support for Air Force weapon systems throughout the lifecycle, including concept development, requirements definition, design, integration, test, production, sustainment, deployment, operations, and divestiture. This position applies Department of Defense and Air Force acquisition policies, engineering principles, and lifecycle systems engineering practices to deliver safe, effective, and mission-ready capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Apply DoDD 5000 Series guidance and AFMC/AFLCMC engineering policies to acquisition engineering activities

  • Develop, analyze, and manage system and subsystem requirements, translating operational needs into technical specifications and design criteria

  • Conduct technical planning, trade studies, system integration assessments, and risk analyses to support weapon system development and sustainment

  • Support systems and avionics engineering across requirements, design, integration, development, test, production, deployment, sustainment, and divestiture

  • Review engineering designs, specifications, technical data packages, and change proposals to ensure technical compliance and optimize cost, schedule, and performance

  • Develop engineering artifacts supporting systems integration, OSS&E, airworthiness certification, system safety, and lifecycle systems engineering activities

  • Participate in technical reviews, design reviews, Technical Interchange Meetings (TIMs), working groups, and program reviews, providing engineering analysis and documentation

  • Support airworthiness, certification, verification, validation, configuration management, interface management, and requirements traceability activities

  • Provide expertise in maintenance systems integration, diagnostics, design-for-test, electronic support equipment, and sustainment engineering

  • Coordinate with government, industry, laboratory, and academic stakeholders to support technology assessments, integration efforts, and capability modernization initiatives

  • Support the development and sustainment of training systems, modeling, and simulation environments

What You Will Need:

  • Must be able to OBTAIN and MAINTAIN a Federal or DoD "SECRET" security clearance; candidates must obtain approved adjudication of their SECRET clearance prior to onboarding with Guidehouse. Candidates with an ACTIVE SECRET clearance are preferred.

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Aeronautical, or related field)

  • ​FIVE (5) or more years of professional acquisition engineering experience, including THREE (3) or more years of experience supporting DoD programs/projects.

What Would Be Nice To Have:

  • An ACTIVE and MAINTAINED "SECRET" Federal or DoD security clearance

  • Advanced degree in Engineering or related field

  • DoD acquisition experience; familiarity with DoD acquisition processes and documentation

  • Demonstrated management and leadership skills in a collaborative environment

  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills and proven ability to work effectively within all organizational levels, including senior DoD leadership

The annual salary range for this position is $102,000.00-$170,000.00. Compensation decisions depend on a wide range of factors, including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, security clearances, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs.
