Financial Analyst | Institutional Retirement Plans

Delivers investment reporting and client support services to a broad and diverse range of clients including, endowments, foundations, pension plans, operating funds and other institutional client portfolios.

Essential Functions and Primary Duties

  • With training, the following responsibilities should be attainable within the first 6 -12 months:
  • Timely and accurately complete monthly and quarterly client performance reports
  • Assist with in-depth portfolio analysis regarding asset allocation, investment manager selection, and strategic implementation
  • Coordinates portfolio related projects (e.g. rebalancing) with client, custodian and investment manager(s) as needed 
  • Participate in on-going due diligence of investment managers, including database documentation
  • Assist the consultant in all areas of client service and meeting preparation
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned

                

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Bachelor's degree required (Finance, Economics or Accounting is a plus)
  • Full professional proficiency in Spanish; capable of conducting negotiations and complex business communications is a plus
  • Zero to two years of investment advisory, management, or related experience
  • Possesses fundamental knowledge of investment/financial services industry
  • Proficient use of MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint); prior experience with Bloomberg, PARis, Morningstar Direct, eVestment Alliance or Envestnet a plus 
  • Experience performing work that requires initiative and leadership skills
  • Ability to anticipate and elicit client needs
  • Ability to self-learn and develop business and technical knowledge quickly
  • Motivated team player with demonstrated interpersonal skills
  • Comfortable working with quick turnaround times and deadlines
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with individuals at all levels of the organization
  • Capacity to adapt and work effectively within a variety of situations, and with various individuals or groups
  • Display innovative ideas and solutions and capacity to identify and eliminate redundant work efforts and inefficient processes
  • Ability to travel as necessary
  • Detail oriented, highly organized and able to multi-task

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Zero to two years of professional, DB investment management experience
  • Possesses fundamental knowledge of industry and professional concepts, principles, practices, and procedures
  • Possesses fundamental knowledge of pertinent laws, regulations, and professional standards
  • Proficient use of applicable technology
  • Proficient use of MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and enterprise communication and travel solutions (Concur, Skype)
  • Experience performing work that requires initiative and leadership skills
  • Pursuing Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designations
  • Ability to anticipate and elicit customer needs
  • Ability to self-learn and develop business and technical knowledge quickly
  • Motivated team player with demonstrated interpersonal skills
  • Comfortable working with quick turnaround times and deadlines
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with individuals at all levels of the organization
  • Capacity to adapt and work effectively within a variety of situations, and with various individuals or groups
