Position Overview
The Quality Inspection Supervisor is responsible for overseeing inspection activities across all departments to ensure compliance with internal quality standards, engineering requirements, and applicable IPC standards. This role requires extensive knowledge of all inspection areas, strong leadership skills, and the ability to support and guide lead inspectors and their teams. The supervisor is not customer-facing and is focused strictly on inspection operations, process adherence, and internal quality performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily inspection activities across Harness, Incoming, Production, and Composite
- Ensure compliance with IPC/WHMA-A-620 standards and internal quality requirements
- Provide leadership, guidance, and support to Lead Inspectors and inspection teams
- Monitor inspection performance, quality trends, and team effectiveness
- Work closely with leads to identify issues, gaps, and process improvements
- Report blockers, risks, and resource needs to upper management
- Ensure proper use and adherence to internal documents, procedures, and systems
- Support training and development of inspection personnel
- Drive consistency in inspection practices and decision-making
- Ensure accurate documentation, traceability, and reporting within quality systems
Required Qualifications
- IPC/WHMA-A-620 Certification (Required)
- Extensive knowledge across all inspection departments (Harness, Incoming, Production, Composite)
- Strong understanding of internal documents, procedures, and applications
- Proven leadership experience in a quality or inspection environment
- Strong attention to detail and decision-making ability
- Ability to communicate effectively across teams and escalate issues appropriately
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
- Ability to mentor, coach, and develop inspection personnel
