We are seeking a future team member for the role of Global Liquidity Operations (GLO) is part of the wider Payments Operations Service Delivery Group, which itself is part of the Payments Enablement Platform. GLO are responsible for managing the overall funding positions of the Company’s various legal entities in a wide range of global currencies as part of a “follow the sun” model. The team operate in a time sensitive and deadline driven environment in which attention to detail, accuracy and timely escalation are key. The Frankfurt based liquidity team is focused on the management of the liquidity on BNY’s direct connections to T2 and TIPS, to facilitate BNY’s EUR currency payment flows, as well as the associated governance. The team interacts with other Operations teams, Corporate Treasury, Finance and Central Banks contacts, to facilitate effective and efficient settlement. The successful candidate will oversee the day-to-day operations of the Frankfurt team whilst also playing a critical role in the overall development and implementation of the Global Liquidity Operations strategy, identifying opportunities for process improvement and efficiency through automation and system enhancement, and active engagement in Incident Management. Although based in Frankfurt, interaction, co-ordination, and collaboration with other global locations is key. to join our Payments Operations Service Delivery Group team. This role is located in Frankfurt.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

  • Build and maintain a robust control environment aligned to the Company’s risk management framework

  • Embed a risk culture through a robust control framework focused on risk reduction and mitigation

  • Act as Liquidity Operations point of contact for strategically significant initiatives, change programmes and regulatory / market driven projects

  • Act as delegate for Head of Global Liquidity Operations as required

  • Build and nourish meaningful relationships with key stakeholders both internally and externally

  • Promote robust control framework focused on risk reduction and mitigation

  • Point of escalation for issues from team members

  • Evaluate processes and operating model on an ongoing basis

  • Effectively manage and develop a team

  • Contribute to creation of targets and goals against which to monitor performance

  • Invest in developing talent providing training and development opportunities to staff and promote succession pipeline while embedding diversity in all forms within the teams

  • Contribute to the achievement of team objectives

  • Involvement in Frankfurt Branch Legal Entity specific administrative tasks, like local audits and regulatory requirements with Operations focus

  • Turn data into compelling narratives that mobilize action

To be successful in this role, we are seeking the following:

  • Minimum 5-7 years’ experience within Operations / Banking

  • Experience of liquidity management would be preferred

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Ability to interact with stakeholders at all levels of the Company

  • Ability to think laterally to resolve issues

  • Detail driven and results oriented

  • Able to work in time sensitive and pressured environment

  • Self-driven and proactive
