Accountabilities:
- Manage a portfolio of approximately 65–75 qualified retirement plans, overseeing full-cycle administration from implementation through ongoing compliance support.
- Perform annual compliance testing, including ADP/ACP, Top Heavy, 410(b), 401(a)(4), 414(s), Benefits, Rights & Features (BRF), and other nondiscrimination testing requirements.
- Coordinate annual valuations and gather year-end census information in partnership with actuarial teams supporting Cash Balance and Defined Benefit plans.
- Prepare and deliver retirement plan documentation, including Annual Valuation Reports, participant statements, Form 5500 filings, and client communications.
- Review plan documents and provide recommendations for plan design improvements and compliance enhancements.
- Process participant transactions, including distributions, loans, hardships, rollovers, and required plan amendments.
- Prepare and file regulatory documentation, including Forms 5500, 8955-SSA, 5330, and other compliance-related filings.
- Perform trust accounting activities for pooled investment accounts and self-directed brokerage accounts.
- Analyze Controlled Group and Affiliated Service Group structures to determine compliance implications.
- Import, validate, and reconcile participant census and financial data to ensure accuracy.
- Act as a trusted advisor to clients by providing timely guidance on operational, regulatory, and retirement plan matters.
- Support team development by sharing expertise, mentoring colleagues, and contributing to process improvements.
- 5–7+ years of full-cycle (A–Z) qualified retirement plan administration experience.
- Demonstrated expertise managing complex defined contribution retirement plans with increasing technical responsibility.
- Experience with MEP/PEP plans is strongly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of retirement plan compliance regulations, testing requirements, and government filing processes.
- ASPPA QKA designation is strongly preferred.
- Excellent client relationship management, communication, and consulting skills.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and project management abilities with exceptional attention to detail.
- Solid mathematical and accounting aptitude with the ability to interpret complex plan data.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize multiple responsibilities, and succeed in a fast-paced remote environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a commitment to delivering high-quality client outcomes.
- Competitive annual salary range of $80,000–$100,000.
