Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include commission (annual, monthly, etc.) and/or an incentive program.Job DescriptionThis position is responsible for safely picking up, storing, loading transports and setting non-drivable vehicles for sale with the use of a Front End Loader/Forklift equipped with 18 foot forks. Vehicles are of varying sizes and conditions, with loose or hanging parts; attention to detail and safety is essential in protecting employees and customers. This position is also responsible for providing general mechanical and automotive services on Auction property, as well as over-the-road and on-site towing service to disabled customer vehicles in compliance with Auction safety rules and regulations. Conduct daily pre-trip safety inspections before beginning work for the dayMake minor adjustment and/or request repairs in writing to the mechanic or supervisorSafely load, unload, rearrange, and maneuver Forklift/Loader with 18 foot forks throughout the auction lotRead stock numbers on the computer screen and verify the stock number and vehicle information directly from vehicle before loading onto forksMove vehicles to inventory staging, sale stalls, or storage as determined by lot location paperwork or computer screensOperates tow truck, service vehicle, gas truck and forklift on the auction lot and in different locations as needed.Move vehicles into the garage or other sheltered areas for insurance inspections, vehicle repairs, or as requested by the supervisorLoad vehicles on transports or fleet trucks for transportation off of the lotMay need to present data to other teams and management.QUALIFICATIONSMinimum:High School Diploma/GEDGenerally less than 2 years’ experience in a related fieldSafe driver's needed; valid driver's license required.Preferred:Experience 1 to 3 years experience preferred operating heavy equipmentEffective communication and organization skills requiredBasic computer skills and the ability to utilize a portable terminal, brick, etc. preferredCommitment to providing excellent customer service essentialRegularly required to stand, walk, reach, talk and hearFrequently required to stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, squat, and climbAbility to spend prolonged periods of time sitting in cab of forklift/loaderVision abilities include close, distance, and color vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focusAbility to remain focused and vigilant regarding surroundings and hazards on lotWork EnvironmentRegular exposure to outdoor weather conditions including extreme heat and coldPotential to spend up to 50% of shift out of the cab and outdoorsDriving and maneuvering forklift in difficult situations with light to heavy crowds and trafficLoading and unloading vehicles in various weather conditionsBenefitsEmployees are eligible to receive a minimum of sixteen hours of paid time off every month and seven paid holidays throughout the calendar year.
