This position is located in the Department of Health & Human Services (HHS), Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), Office of Information Technology (OIT), Information Security & Privacy Group (ISPG), Division of Strategic Information (DSI). As a Supervisory Security Specialist, GS-0080-15, you will direct staff responsible for the enterprise National Security, Counterintelligence, Insider Threat and Supply Chain Risk Management programs.
Manage a team of Security Specialists and intelligence professionals, assign work based on priorities and employee capabilities, conduct performance appraisals, resolve complaints, and ensure staff have the needed training and development.
Build recommendations that shape agency-wide policies and procedures, analyze proposed legislative and policy changes for their impact on CMS operations, and develop cost models to support smart, value-based national security IT decisions.
Serve as the agency's representative before various stakeholders on sensitive program and administrative issues persuading stakeholders and building coalitions to advance the agency's mission.
Set short- and long-term goals, manage budgets and resource allocation, identify process gaps, and introduce new techniques or procedures to continuously improve how the Division operates and delivers results.
