Accountabilities:
- Administer and manage employee benefits programs including health, life, disability insurance, retirement plans, and wellness initiatives.
- Oversee leave of absence (LOA), disability, FMLA, ADA, and workers’ compensation processes in compliance with federal and state regulations.
- Manage 401(k) administration, enrollment, contributions, and employee inquiries, ensuring accurate processing and support.
- Coordinate benefits enrollment, eligibility verification, and HRIS data accuracy in collaboration with vendors and internal systems teams.
- Conduct regular audits of benefits data, PTO programs, and related HR records to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Support ACA reporting, 5500 filings, and other regulatory requirements in coordination with benefits vendors and compliance teams.
- Facilitate open enrollment processes, employee communications, and benefits education sessions.
- Generate reports for leadership on benefits usage, billing, and program performance.
- Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, or related field preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 5+ years of experience in HR or benefits administration in a multi-site or regulated environment.
- Strong understanding of U.S. benefits regulations including ERISA, HIPAA, COBRA, FMLA, ADA, and related leave laws.
- Experience managing benefits systems, HRIS platforms (such as UKG), and benefits administration tools (e.g., PlanSource).
- Solid knowledge of 401(k) plans, insurance programs, and leave administration processes.
- Strong analytical skills with experience in auditing, compliance tracking, and data validation.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to handle sensitive employee inquiries with confidentiality and empathy.
- Strong problem-solving abilities with attention to detail and accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
- Professional HR certification (PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP) is a plus.
