As a Portfolio Analyst and Strategy Specialist within PNC's Risk Operations & Quantitative Strategy organization, you will be based in Pittsburgh, PA / Cleveland, OH / Charlotte, NC / Raleigh, NC / Houston, TX / Denver, CO.

We are seeking a highly motivated Portfolio Analyst & Strategy Specialist to support critical regulatory reporting, risk management, data provisioning, and strategic automation initiatives across the organization. This individual will play a key role in automating risk metrics, streamlining manual processes, and delivering high-quality data solutions that improve operational efficiency, reporting accuracy, and business decision-making.

The ideal candidate possesses advanced SQL and Python skills, a strong understanding of PNC's data ecosystem, and the ability to navigate and analyze data across multiple platforms throughout the bank. This role requires a combination of technical expertise, analytical curiosity, strategic thinking, and business partnership skills to support regulatory reporting needs, including Prudential Regulation initiatives, while driving continuous process improvement and innovation.

Key Responsibilities
· Support data provisioning, portfolio analysis, and automation efforts for regulatory reporting initiatives, including Prudential Regulation and other enterprise reporting requirements.
· Design, develop, and maintain automated solutions that improve the efficiency, accuracy, and scalability of risk metric calculations, portfolio monitoring, and reporting processes.
· Leverage advanced SQL skills to source, transform, validate, and analyze large and complex datasets across multiple banking data platforms.
· Develop and maintain Python-based automation, analytical models, and reporting solutions that reduce manual effort and enhance operational effectiveness.
· Build a deep understanding of data lineage, data quality, and business definitions across various systems and platforms within the bank.
· Create and maintain Business Intelligence solutions, dashboards, and reporting capabilities using Power BI, Power BI Publisher, and Tableau.
· Partner with business stakeholders to develop insightful visualizations and reporting solutions that support risk management, regulatory compliance, portfolio management, and strategic decision-making.
· Research, analyze, and resolve complex data issues while ensuring the integrity, consistency, and accuracy of reporting outputs.
· Collaborate closely with Risk, Finance, Regulatory Reporting, Technology, Data Management, and business partners to gather requirements and deliver actionable data-driven solutions.
· Identify opportunities to simplify, standardize, and modernize existing processes through automation, analytics, and innovative approaches.
· Support the development of controls, documentation, and validation procedures for regulatory and risk-related reporting processes.
· Conduct ad hoc analyses, data investigations, and strategic research to support business initiatives and executive management requests.
· Manage multiple priorities while delivering high-quality results under tight deadlines and evolving business requirements.

Qualifications required;
· Advanced proficiency in SQL, including complex query development, data manipulation, performance optimization, and troubleshooting.
· Strong proficiency in Python for data analysis, automation, process improvement, and reporting solutions.
· Experience working with large-scale enterprise data environments and multiple data platforms.
· Strong familiarity with PNC's data ecosystem, key data repositories, and enterprise data architecture.
· Experience developing dashboards, reports, and visual analytics using Power BI, Power BI Publisher, and Tableau.
· Strong analytical, problem-solving, data research, and data validation skills.
· Ability to understand and interpret data across diverse systems and platforms within a complex banking environment.
· Experience supporting risk management, regulatory reporting, finance, portfolio management, or governance functions.
· Strong communication and relationship management skills with the ability to effectively engage business and technology stakeholders.
· Demonstrated ability to work effectively under tight deadlines and manage competing priorities.
· Proven ability to challenge existing processes and recommend innovative, efficient solutions.
· Self-motivated with a passion for data analysis, research, and continuous learning.

Preferred skills;
· Experience supporting Prudential Regulation reporting or other regulatory reporting programs.
· Knowledge of banking risk management concepts, methodologies, and regulatory requirements.
· Experience with data governance, data lineage, metadata management, and data quality frameworks.
· Familiarity with cloud-based data platforms and modern data engineering practices.
· Experience creating executive-level dashboards and management reporting packages.
· Knowledge of risk metrics, balance sheet reporting, capital, liquidity, stress testing, or portfolio management frameworks.

Job Description

  • Provides financial and regulatory reporting and analyses to maintain adequate controls over the financial and regulatory reporting processes. Responsible for running complex business performance, risk and operational analytics. May include the development of analytical methods/models to assess market, credit and/or operational risk of new and existing financial products.
  • Leverages business / product expertise to rigorously analyze large datasets, improve risk adjusted returns, deliver profitable growth, and communicate conclusions. Synthesizes analytical results and develops, recommends, and implements business strategies that improve lending decisions, assist in managing risk, increase revenues, reduce exposure to losses, meet business goals, and improve performance. Establishes baselines for strategies and tracks actual performance to expectations.
  • Applies predictive models, third party data, and other tools to develop and execute appropriate segmentation and targeting for acquisition and portfolio strategies to provide insight into portfolio risk. Manages engagements with internal and external information suppliers ensuring solution is fit for purpose while maintaining appropriate governance and oversight.
  • Works with business, credit, data, and model development partners to design, develop, and monitor test designs and analytical reporting to track and enhance strategies. Designs / enhances standard reporting suites for regular product / portfolio reviews.
  • Collaborates with the line of business, Finance, and Risk partners to assess and establish credit risk appetite and to understand its implications, as well as to establish policies and procedures governing the identification, monitoring, and management of risk appetite.

Pay Transparency

Base Salary: $91,000.00 – $202,800.00

Salaries may vary based on geographic location, market data and on individual skills, experience, and education. This role is incentive eligible with the payment based upon company, business and/or individual performance.
