The ISC delivers integrated, evidence-based care to service members and families affected by traumatic brain injury (TBI), Anomalous Health Incidents (AHI), and related neurological and behavioral health conditions—combining rehabilitation, behavioral health care, integrative medicine, and skills-based training into individualized treatment plans.

What You'll Do
Clinical Care
- Provide specialized primary and acute health care on a problem-oriented and emergency basis, integrating evidence-based medical practice within your credentials and MTF-delineated privileges.
- Perform comprehensive and problem-focused histories and physical examinations; assess acute and non-acute clinical problems.
- Order and interpret labs and imaging studies (X-rays, MRIs, bone scans, CT scans), and refer to specialists as required.
- Prescribe medication and implement evidence-based, response-guided therapies, initiating emergency care as appropriate.
- Evaluate patient care delivery systems and address barriers to safe, effective care.
- Document and close notes in MHS Genesis within three (3) business days of patient encounters; respond to secure portal messages within one (1) business day.
- Consult and coordinate with multidisciplinary providers, agencies, and outlying clinics on treatment recommendations.
- Collaborate with physicians on patient management, including high-risk or complex cases, and assist in training interns, residents, and other healthcare professionals.
- Maintain competency in MHS Genesis, Dragon dictation, and Microsoft Office; comply with MTF and Joint Commission quality/peer-review requirements.
- You bring sound clinical judgment, precision, and compassion to every patient encounter.
- You're comfortable working independently while collaborating closely with an interdisciplinary care team.
- You're mission-minded and want your work to make a tangible difference for service members and their families.
- You may be a military spouse, veteran, or simply someone who values service and purpose.
Education
- Nurse Practitioner: post-master's certificate, master's, or doctoral degree from a program accredited by ACEN or CCNE (equivalent foreign degrees require evaluation by a recognized agency).
- Physician Assistant: master's degree in any discipline, or bachelor's degree as a PA, from an ARC-PA accredited program, with successful completion of the PANCE. Specialty PAs must complete 12+ months of residency/fellowship acceptable to the DHA.
- NP: current board certification (ANCC, AANPCB, or other nationally recognized body). PA: current PANCE certification (NCCPA), eligible for the PA-C designation.
- Active, current, full, and unrestricted license to practice as an APRN or PA-C in a U.S. state, territory, commonwealth, or the District of Columbia.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- At least two years of direct patient care in a clinical setting within the past five years, while privileged as an NP or PA.
- U.S. Citizenship, and ability to pass the background investigation required for a DoD Common Access Card (CAC).
- DEA registration if prescribing controlled substances; 10-digit NPI matching the site of care.
- Well-groomed, professional appearance in accordance with the place of performance's policy.
