Position Summary

The CT Technologist performs a variety of diagnostic CT imaging procedures while ensuring the highest standards of patient care, image quality, and safety. This role requires independent judgment, technical expertise, and adherence to hospital policies and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Perform a variety of clinical CT imaging procedures in accordance with physician orders and established protocols.
  • Produce high-quality CT images and evaluate them for technical accuracy and diagnostic quality.
  • Correctly identify patients and accurately label all imaging studies.
  • Exercise sound clinical judgment when selecting and modifying imaging protocols as appropriate.
  • Administer contrast media in accordance with established policies and maintain accurate documentation of medication administration.
  • Monitor patients throughout imaging procedures to ensure safety and comfort.
  • Maintain compliance with hospital policies, departmental procedures, and all applicable regulatory and accreditation standards, including Joint Commission requirements.
  • Ensure proper operation and routine quality control of CT equipment.
  • Collaborate effectively with radiologists, physicians, nurses, and other members of the healthcare team to provide outstanding patient care.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Graduate of an accredited two-year Radiologic Technology program required.
  • Current ARRT certification required.
  • Current New York State Department of Health Radiologic Technologist license required.
  • Certification to administer contrast media required.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of diagnostic radiology experience required.
  • CT experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of computerized axial tomography (CT) principles, equipment, and procedures preferred.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association required.

Posted Salary Range

USD $54.51 - USD $67.48 /Hr.

This range serves as a good faith estimate and actual pay will encompass a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience. The salary range or rate listed does not include any bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation that may be applicable to this job and it does not include the value of benefits.
