Yard Spotter / Hostler — Class A CDL — $24/hr — No Overnight, No Long Haul

Surge Staffing is hiring a Yard Spotter (Hostler) for our distribution facility in West Chicago. This is local, daytime, home-every-night work — no overnight trips, no long-haul driving. Just steady yard work moving trailers, with a predictable Monday–Friday schedule.
What You'll Do
- Move trailers within the yard to loading docks and staging areas
- Hook and unhook trailers safely and efficiently
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections on yard equipment
- Coordinate with warehouse and dock staff to keep trailer flow moving
- Follow yard safety procedures and traffic patterns
What We're Looking For
- Valid Class A CDL (required)
- Prior yard spotter/hostler experience a plus, but not required — we'll train the right person
- Comfortable backing and maneuvering trailers in tight spaces
- Clean driving record
- Able to start immediately
Pay & Benefits
- $24/hour
