Accountabilities:

    The Managing Director, Compliance Advisory will lead strategic consulting engagements, strengthen client partnerships, and drive the growth of compliance advisory services within the financial services sector. The role requires a balance of deep subject-matter expertise, commercial leadership, and the ability to guide high-performing teams through complex transformation initiatives.

    • Lead and expand advisory services focused on financial crime compliance, including KYC, sanctions, AML, and fraud risk management.
    • Serve as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders across compliance, risk, legal, operations, and executive leadership teams.
    • Originate, manage, and deliver large-scale transformation, remediation, and compliance improvement programs.
    • Oversee initiatives involving customer due diligence, sanctions controls, AML operating models, fraud strategies, investigations, and risk management enhancements.
    • Manage multiple client engagements while ensuring delivery excellence, commercial success, and strong client satisfaction.
    • Build and maintain executive-level relationships across banks, fintechs, payment providers, asset managers, broker-dealers, and other financial institutions.
    • Drive business development activities by identifying opportunities, developing proposals, leading client pursuits, and expanding existing relationships.
    • Provide strategic guidance on regulatory expectations, industry standards, and practical approaches to improving compliance programs.
    • Partner with leadership teams to develop market strategies, thought leadership content, and new advisory offerings.
    • Mentor and develop senior consultants and multidisciplinary teams, fostering collaboration, innovation, and professional growth.
    • Requirements:

      The ideal candidate is a senior compliance advisory leader with extensive experience in financial services, consulting, and regulatory transformation. The role requires strong technical knowledge, executive communication skills, and a proven ability to influence stakeholders and deliver complex programs.

      • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree or relevant professional certifications are preferred.
      • 15+ years of experience in consulting, financial services, or related fields with significant focus on financial crime compliance.
      • Deep expertise in KYC, sanctions, AML, and fraud risk management, including regulations, controls, operating models, and technology enablement.
      • Proven experience leading large-scale compliance, remediation, or transformation programs in highly regulated environments.
      • Strong understanding of challenges faced by financial institutions across compliance, risk, operations, and governance functions.
      • Established executive network and credibility within the financial services industry.
      • Demonstrated success in business development, client relationship management, and advisory engagement growth.
      • Experience influencing C-suite executives and managing complex stakeholder environments.
      • Strong leadership capabilities with experience building and managing high-performing teams.
      • Excellent executive communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship management skills.
      • Experience with regulatory remediation, monitorships, lookbacks, or enforcement-related programs is a plus.
      • Familiarity with compliance technology platforms supporting KYC, transaction monitoring, sanctions screening, fraud detection, and case management is preferred.
      • Knowledge of operating model design, process optimization, data governance, or controls transformation is beneficial.
      • Professional certifications such as CAMS, CFE, CFCS, or equivalent are considered an advantage.
