A Day in the Life

This is an exciting opportunity to join Medtronic, a global leader in medical technology and healthcare solutions in one of our top-performing and most dynamic businesses, Pelvic Health. Through advanced sacral neuromodulation therapy, including our InterStim X system, we help patients living with incontinence-related conditions regain confidence and improve their quality of life.

As a Clinical Specialist, you will play a highly valued role in supporting both clinicians and patients throughout the therapy journey. You will provide technical support to surgeons in the operating theatre, while also delivering ongoing patient care before and after treatment. Partnering closely with Territory Managers across Victoria, you will help coordinate case support, build strong customer relationships, and contribute to the smooth and effective management of operations, inventory, and planning.

This is a fantastic 12 Month Full-Time Contract opportunity based in Melbourne for an experienced medical device professional who enjoys working autonomously, thrives in a clinical environment, and is passionate about delivering meaningful outcomes for patients.

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:

  • Work with the Territory Managers to understand the clinical and service needs of specific customers and provide the highest level of clinical service and technical support

  • Support the Territory Managers through aligned promotion and selling of defined Medtronic products & services to key specialists and technical staff

  • Collaborate with the Territory Managers and broader team to actively participate in quarterly business reviews and business planning and execute agreed actions

  • Proactively meet with the Territory Managers and other Clinical Specialists (CSs) in managing case coverage requirements for the state

  • In consultation with the Territory Managers, play a lead role with technical in-services, presentations and training to specified customers

  • Effectively communicate with the Territory Managers and other relevant stakeholders to provide optimal support to implanting surgeons and patients

  • Consistently set and meet quarterly performance goals

  • Support Territory Managers with inventory control, including the expedited delivery of stock to customers as needed

  • Ensure the highest level of product knowledge is attained and maintained

  • Monitor field inventory effectively to ensure appropriate levels of inventory in each location relative to demand

  • Complete cycle counts of all required field locations on time and follow up on any missing stock

  • Retrieve all expiring products from field locations and return them to the warehouse before expiry

  • All activities must be performed in compliance with the local Quality System

  • Performs duties in compliance with environmental, health and safety-related site rules, policies or governmental regulations

  • All other duties as assigned

  • Travel requirement is approximately 25%

Required Knowledge and Experience:

  • High School Diploma with minimum of 6 years relevant experience, or Associate Diploma with minimum of 4 years relevant experience, or Bachelor's Degree with minimum of 2 years relevant experience

  • Relevant years of experience as a Clinical Specialist or equivalent technical medical experience

  • Strong ability to build clinical and business relationships with customers

  • Advanced understanding of internal workings of hospital labs/theatres/departments e.g. purchasing, consignment, clinics, patient & implant scheduling and key influencers

  • Computer literacy including sound knowledge of the MS Office suite of software

  • Maintain a valid driver’s license
