Join Ford’s PTME team to develop production Assembly processes and project-manage the launch of new and retooled equipment for our next-generation Electrification, and Hybrid Transmission programs. You will lead the physical and virtual implementation of advanced manufacturing systems, ensuring robust quality and operational efficiency.
You will receive hands-on training in cutting-edge EV propulsion and simulation tools, collaborate closely across Product Development and Plant Operations to expand your career horizons, and access structured mentorship to prepare you for future engineering leadership roles.
What you'll do...
- Process & Equipment Launch: Serve as the primary Process Engineer driving the design, procurement, delivery, and launch of program-specific machinery, equipment, and assembly processes.
- Safety & Workstation Design: Lead the "Design for Ergonomics" procedure and implement standardized assembly solutions to eliminate operator risks and deliver highly productive manual workstations.
- Technical Specs & Virtual Simulation: Develop detailed station specifications, BOMs, and 3D CAD models; collaborate with Virtual Manufacturing to verify designs prior to physical builds.
- Quality & Risk Mitigation: Utilize disciplined quality tools (PFMEA, DCP, Process Illustrations) and ME Lessons Learned to ensure process capability, conformity, and continuous improvement.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with the Component Program Module Team (CPMT) and Product Development (PD) to resolve design feasibility issues, manage project budgets, and drive investment efficiency with OEMs.
You'll have...
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering with practical manufacturing and problem-solving experience (at least three years' experience at a very minimum).
- Analytical Skills: Strong troubleshooting capabilities combined with a data-driven mentality to resolve complex technical issues.
- Aptitude & Adaptability: Demonstrated ability to quickly learn core product functions and manage multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Collaboration: Proven capability to work effectively both independently and within diverse, cross-functional teams.
- Assembly manufacturing experience is a must.
Even better, you may have...
- Experience in Manufacturing Engineering (automotive or high-volume production preferred).
- Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and design feasibility experience would be nice to have.
- Technical knowledge of transmission and/or electrified powertrain component function.
- Strong mechanical and controls engineering aptitude.
- Proven project management experience, particularly in managing equipment OEMs.

This position is a salary grade 6 and ranges from $74,300-$124,500.
This position is a salary grade 7 and ranges from $86,600-$144,900.
This position is a salary grade 8 and ranges from $99,100-$166,200.
Final determination of salary grade will be based on candidate's skills and experience, and base salary will be set within the applicable range according to job scope, responsibility and competitive market value.
