Marsh South Africa is seeking candidates for a “Major Accounts Management Leader” for the Mining & Heavy Industry team based in Johannesburg!

  

In this key roleyou will provide guidance to the client servicing and placement teams who play a pivotal role in managing and growing our portfolio of mining clients.. You will also manage key client relationships, with a focus on strategic relationship management.. You will be expected to manage complex Property & Casualty programs and provide technical advice and expertise in these fields.

We will count on you to:

  • Train and mentor team members and ensure the team is appropriately upskilled to meet client needs.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients.

  • Utilize detailed technical expertise to perform critical client functions, including: evaluating risks; reviewing loss experience data, developing solutions and articulating the impact of these options; leveraging prepared analytics and making recommendations to clients across product lines.

  • Support the Industry Leader in ensuring key client retention and  new business growth.

  • Support the Industrty Leader in establishing the growth and retention strategy for client servicing & placement teams and monitoring implementation.

  • Serve as a Senior Relationship Officer & key client contact,responding to more complex client needs and questions to improve the client experience.

  • Serve as a thought leader within the organization and comply with all compliance, professional and transparency standards to better serve clients.

What you need to have:

  • 15 - 20+ years of commercial insurance experience  - and preferably client-facing experience in insurance products and services.

  • Bachelor’s degree / IISA Qualification

  • Proven success as a senior-level commercial leader and business advisor, driving revenue growth through proactive networking, strategic analysis, and insightful solutions while working with clients and/or client teams. 

  • Strong commercial skills and a growth-oriented mindset, showcasing the ability to develop innovative commercial strategies that align with Marsh´s commercial priorities. 

  • Proficient in navigating and effectively managing internal stakeholders across Marsh within the region/zone, ensuring alignment and collaboration to drive sales success.

  • Strong communication skills, cross-functional team working perspective, detail-oriented, strong analytical thinking ability, and planning skills.

  • Advanced level of English, both written and spoken
