Facilities Manager Job Summary

We are currently seeking an organized and responsible facilities manager to manage facilities maintenance staff. The ideal candidate will have a good understanding of mechanical and electrical maintenance work, with excellent leadership and supervisory skills. You will direct and oversee all daily maintenance activities including delegation of tasks, tracking maintenance performance, and directing the processes of any necessary repairs.
 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Oversee, manage and direct all maintenance procedures and operations
  • Ensure all facilities infrastructure related equipment is up to working standards
  • Assess current maintenance work processes, to optimize efficiency
  • Manage proactively
  • Use data analysis to help prepare for and prevent future problems
  • Create and implement measures to minimize breakdowns and repairs (performing quality checks of all facilities infrastructure related tools, equipment etc.)
  • Troubleshoot problem areas and create a clear plan of action for fixing necessary parts
  • Oversee repairs
  • Train new employees in maintenance work processes and procedures
  • Mentor and coach employees on career planning and growth
  • Create a work environment with safety as a top priority
  • Perform evaluations of employees to ensure quality of work
  • Record and track daily progress/error reports
  • Lead root cause analysis activities on facilities related system failures
  • Maintain vendor relationships and order new materials as needed
  • Manage and adhere to maintenance budgets
  • Collaborate with management on capital spending
  • Enforce all health and safety rules and regulations according to state/federal laws and company protocol
  • Plan and oversee all repair and installation activities
  • Monitor equipment inventory and place orders when necessary

Requirements and skills

  • US Citizenship Required
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering related field, or equivalent work experience
  • 8+ Years experience in planning maintenance operations
  • Solid understanding of technical aspects of mechanical and electrical systems etc.
  • Working knowledge of facilities machines and equipment
  • Ability to keep track of and report on activity
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Outstanding organizational and leadership abilities

Located in Chelmsford, MA. Fully on-site position Monday - Friday, with on-call emergency support as needed.

The expected wage range for a new hire into this position is $112,000 to $154,000.
  • Actual wage offered may vary depending on work location, experience, education, training, external market data, internal pay equity, or other bona fide factors.

  • This position qualifies for a discretionary performance-based bonus which is based on personal and company factors.
