Warren, MI · Mountain View, CAFull-timePosted Jul 22, 2026

Job Description

The Role

To achieve our vision of a world with Zero Crashes, Zero Emissions and Zero Congestion, GM’s display hardware and integration ecosystem is evolving to deliver robust, high-quality customer experiences across our vehicle portfolio.

As the Engineering Group Manager – Displays Integration, you will lead the execution of display integration activities across the full product lifecycle, from concept development and sourcing through engineering, validation, launch, and production support.

You will lead a team of display integration engineers and collaborate closely with cross-functional partners across Design Studio, Interior Systems, Electrical Hardware, Software, Validation, Purchasing, Manufacturing, and supplier organizations to deliver high-quality display solutions that meet customer expectations while achieving quality, cost, timing, and performance targets.

In this leadership role, you will oversee complex display integration programs spanning multiple vehicle platforms, model years, and configurations. You will drive alignment on system architecture, packaging, interfaces, feature implementation, sourcing strategies, technical issue resolution, and launch readiness.

We are seeking a high-performing manager with a strong track record of leading multidisciplinary teams, developing effective execution strategies, solving complex technical challenges, and driving continuous improvement. The successful candidate will play a critical role in advancing GM's display technologies and delivering innovative customer experiences while balancing technical excellence, business objectives, and program commitments.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop a team of display integration engineers, providing technical direction, prioritization, coaching, and performance management.
  • Mentor and coach engineers to support technical growth, career development, and increased organizational capability.
  • Own display integration execution from early concept through SOR, sourcing, surface development (SDIT), surface release, tool kickoff, validation, launch, and production support.
  • Lead cross-functional integration of display systems with Studio, Interior, HVAC, Electrical, Software, Validation, Purchasing, Program Teams, and Manufacturing to achieve robust vehicle execution.
  • Drive program execution across multiple display architectures and configurations, including clusters (IPD), center stack (VCD), passenger displays (FPI/RSI), HVAC, and related display content or mechanisms where applicable.
  • Support DREs in resolving feasibility assessments and integration tradeoffs involving package space, attachment strategy, manufacturability, appearance integration, theme compatibility, and system robustness.
  • Refine and optimize requirements with product teams and partner organizations to ensure executable integration targets and clear ownership across interfaces.
  • Monitor and guide DREs maintaining key display integration deliverables, including requirements, timing plans, issue trackers, sourcing assumptions, engineering change documentation, and program reviews.
  • Participate in formal reviews and peer reviews to identify integration gaps, interface risks, systemic issues, and recovery actions.
  • Drive supplier alignment and accountability for design execution, timing recovery, issue containment, and production readiness, including escalation when supplier performance or technical maturity puts program objectives at risk.
  • Advise and support team members with integration problem solving for mechanical, electrical, software, and packaging issues, including difficult cross-functional topics such as theme-to-engineering mismatches, attachment strategy, and ownership gaps.
  • Support sourcing and strategic supplier decisions for display modules, cover glass, and related technologies to enable future GM display solutions.
  • Provide technical leadership for troubleshooting activities supporting PRTS issue resolution, field and warranty investigations, and production issue containment.
  • Support Engineering Change Requests, product investigations, plant issue resolution, and launch-quality improvement actions.
  • Ensure DREs support DFMEA and PFMEA activities for display systems and related interfaces and drive closure of issues by required milestones.
  • Ensure all vehicle program imperatives, including piece cost, investment, mass, base engineering content, and IPTV, are achieved. Support workgroups, escalation, etc., where tradeoffs require intervention to drive solutions.
  • Champion cost reduction, value optimization, and continuous improvement activities for display integration solutions.
  • Communicate, educate and institutionalize, best practices, lessons learned, and standard work for display integration execution.
  • Build strong working relationships across Studios, SMTs, Program Teams, and suppliers to drive decisions and remove roadblocks on complex programs.
  • Support pre-production and production vehicle integration activities, including validation readiness, build support, issue triage, and launch execution.
  • Lead management of unplanned integration activities, SOR development, dependency tracking, and recovery planning across active programs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering required - Master’s degree preferred
  • Minimum 10+ years of automotive engineering experience, with significant experience in display systems, electrical or mechatronic products, and vehicle integration
  • Strong experience leading cross-functional product development and integration programs through concept, sourcing, development, validation, launch, and production
  • Experience with display technologies and associated module execution, including LCD, OLED, touch systems, cover lens integration, and related supplier ecosystems
  • Strong understanding of vehicle integration processes, engineering change management, validation planning, failure mode analysis, and launch execution
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex technical issues involving hardware, software, packaging, supplier execution, and cross-functional interfaces
  • Understanding of requirements engineering, DFMEA/PFMEA, preliminary hazard analyses, and verification and validation processes
  • Working knowledge of embedded software development, testing, and associated tools as they relate to display integration
  • Strong understanding of engineering theory and principles of operation for mechanical and electrical systems
  • Thorough knowledge of product development, test engineering, manufacturing, assembly operations, and GM engineering processes and procedures
  • Highly developed oral and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally within Displays and across other disciplines (SMTs)
  • Demonstrated problem-solving ability in ambiguous, high-complexity environments
  • High level of interpersonal skills to work effectively with others, motivate employees, and drive strong execution outcomes
  • Very high level of analytical and strategic problem-solving capability where issues are unusual, complex, and cross-functional

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous industry experience with display integration and display technologies
  • Experience leading complex interior-display programs requiring close coordination with Studio, Interior, Program Teams, and suppliers
  • Experience with issue investigation using logs, data-based problem solving, and structured root cause methods relevant to display systems.
  • Experience with design and analysis tools such as Mentor Graphics, MathCad, PSpice, and Saber is preferred
  • Experience managing global or multi-hub engineering execution is preferred
