Airtable is hiring backend engineers for two infrastructure teams serving their 500,000+ user platform. The Compute team builds and manages Airtable's Kubernetes-based infrastructure supporting all services including AI workloads, with focus on network stack overhaul, disaster recovery, and custom operators. The Developer Platform team builds internal tooling, CI/CD systems, and frameworks to improve developer experience across engineering. You'll proactively identify infrastructure improvements, own systems-level problems around scalability and reliability, and build clean abstractions used company-wide. Required: 8+ years industry experience in databases, distributed systems, service architectures, or data infrastructure; strong CS fundamentals; currently based or willing to relocate to San Francisco Bay Area, New York City, or remote in greater Seattle (hybrid with 2-3 days/week in office for SF/NYC roles). This is not an early-career position; compensation ranges $196K–$340K USD depending on location and experience, plus RSUs and benefits.
