This Opportunity

Project Engineers focus on ensuring all design documentation related to the construction of equipment, products and services are generated and distributed to appropriate parties to ensure successful completion. The position participates in all aspects of project related activities from drawing and BoM management, shop drawings, timeline generation, cost management, in-shop acceptance testing, and field commissioning.

A successful candidate will have the knowledge and capability to interface with a cross-functional team of engineers to successfully meet customer expectations. The candidate shall possess sufficient knowledge of mechanical design and fabrication practices to support and execute various product development and construction projects.

Responsibilities

  • Design and detail parts and assemblies utilizing 3D (SolidWorks, etc.) and 2D (AutoCAD, etc.) software. We are accepting applications for all LEVELS I, II, III
  • Interface with designers and engineers in team environment and promotes and encourages a culture of knowledge generation and distribution pertaining to products, services, and technology.
  • Generate documentation to facilitate manufacture of products including drawings, bills of material, material specifications and design files.
  • Coordinate with suppliers, vendors, and customers as necessary to satisfy various design requirements.
  • Generating and maintaining project engineering planning documents (Gnatt charts, drawing records, etc..) to communicate project status.

Levels II and III 

  • Guide and coordinate efforts of other engineers, designers, project team members and technicians. (Level III)
  • Complete, document and provide engineering designs, calculations, processes and procedures relevant to assigned projects. 
  • Checks work of others, as necessary, for the successful completion of assigned projects. 
  • Responsible for aiding in own self-development by being available and receptive to all training made available by the company.
  • Plans daily activities within the guidelines of company policy, job description and supervisor’s instruction in such a way as to maximize personal output.
  • Responsible for keeping own immediate work area in a neat and orderly condition to ensure safety of self and co-workers. Will report any unsafe conditions and/or practices to the appropriate supervisor and human resources. Will immediately correct any unsafe conditions as the best of own ability.
  • Responsible for effectively delegating tasks and delivering design guidance for other engineers.
  • Communicate effectively with customers and attend and lead customer project meetings as necessary.
  • Able to work effectively with project management, fabrication facilities and estimating teams to identify scope of work and commercial changes to projects.

Requirements

  • B.S. in relevant engineering discipline (Mechanical, Civil, Manufacturing, etc.) and minimum relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education/experience.
  • Project Engineer I – Bachelor’s Degree and demonstration of relevant knowledge
  • Project Engineer II – Bachelor’s Degree and minimum of five (5) years relevant experience
  • Project Engineer III – Bachelor’s Degree and minimum of eight (8) years relevant experience

Knowledge Skills and Abilities

  • Proficient with SolidWorks, 2D Cad tools such as AutoCAD and Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to use time management skills, multitasking, and work flexibility to maintain project schedules.
  • Ability to learn and apply new tools in order to maintain cutting edge technology while maintaining project files for ease of access for updates and changes.

Industry Specifc 

  • Successful applicants to advanced levels will have a demonstrated understanding of one or more of the following categories:
  • Design knowledge and component selection of sheet metal fabrication (material specifications, manufacturing processes, equipment capabilities). 
  • Design knowledge and component selection of piping systems (pumps, valves, filters, fittings, ASME and AWS specifications). 
  • Design knowledge and component selection of refrigeration systems (compressors, valves, evaporators, condensers) 
  • Design knowledge and component selection of industrial ventilation systems (industrial blowers, valves, ductwork, ASHRAE and NFPA specifications)

TRAVEL

Travel may be required to obtain appropriate knowledge, interface with customers and vendors, and to successfully execute projects. Applicants shall be expected to travel as necessary to support assigned projects. Travel is not expected to be more than 10% of time in calendar year but may vary as project complexity and location changes. International travel may be required at times.
