As an Accounting Manager, Financial Reporting, you will be part of the team responsible for the accuracy and integrity of Target’s general ledger and consolidated financial reporting across 50+ legal entities. This team performs critical accounting functions that underpin both internal and external reporting.
In this role, you will help ensure a flawless, well-controlled monthly close and consolidation process—while also transforming how the team operates. You will drive process modernization, enhance reporting insights, and increase the visibility and impact of this foundational team across the organization.
You will partner with Accounting, Income Tax, and Legal teams to support new initiatives, drive process efficiencies, and leverage analytics to improve complex accounting processes. You will lead special projects and perform ad hoc analyses to support key business partners. In addition, you will assist with the close and consolidation process, ensuring the accuracy of legal entity financial statements. Responsibilities also include preparing SAP journal entries, reviewing key controls, and building strong cross-functional relationships to influence stakeholders and provide exceptional support to teams across the company.
About you:
- Four-year Accounting degree and 3-6 years of related experience
- Intercompany accounting and consolidation experience; strong GAAP knowledge
- Driven to innovate, make meaningful improvements to process, and enhance partnerships
- Ability to manage ambiguity, work independently and take initiative
- Data analysis and modeling experience
- Ability to summarize complex, detailed topics for partners and leadership
- Strong business partner, able to collaborate with teams across the organization
- Experience with SAP general ledger and reporting tools (AFO, BW), Group Reporting consolidation tools (desired)
