Oracle Database Administrator (DBA).

 We are looking for an experienced Oracle Database Administrator (DBA). Person should have at least 10 years of experience in managing Oracle databases. The Oracle DBA is responsible for the day-to-day management, performance, security, availability, and reliability of MTSP Oracle database environments.

Responsibilities

  • Manage nonproduction databases (dev and UAT) which are 30TB+ in size.
  • Create and maintain database instances, tablespaces, schemas, tables, indexes, and views

  • Installation of HPS patches in non-production environment. Understand the dependencies and create documentation.
  • Debug performance issues and work with HPS to fix them.
  • Troubleshoot database issues and perform root-cause analysis. 
  • Knowledge of database partitioning.
  • Importing DB tables from dmp files
  • AWR analysis
  • Performance improvement analysis

 

 

Skills

  • Good knowledge of writing SQL queries.
  • Experience of deployment and support of Azure services
  • Experience in the Linux environment and a good understanding of its fundamentals and internals: filesystems and modern memory management, threads and processes, the user/kernel-space divide, etc.
  • Oracle RMAN Backup & Recovery 
  • Work with enterprise team to copy and restore production database to non-production environment.
  • Good to have Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) certification.

 

Special needs – Majority of the work will be during usual business hours on weekdays. However additional effort may be required during data maintenance activities which will be done during non-business hours. Also, DBA will need to support monthly production deployment which is done on a weekend. Working during weekend or off hours can be compensated against the normal working hours.
