Title and Summary
Senior Network EngineerOverview• Supports and assists with the design, architecture, implementation, security and support of a multi-site network communication environment.
Role
Responsibilities:
• Manage and implement a range of network projects.
• Develop detailed requirements for upgrading existing production, corporate and non-production network devices.
• Participates in the planning and implementing upgrading existing production and corporate and non-production network devices.
• Completes network communications troubleshooting and provides in-depth technical assistance with operational problems.
• Supports assigned projects, which include responsibility for planning, time, resource utilization and implementation of changes (in and out of core hours). Identifying risks relating to the project, escalating potential concerns, and helping to prevent further design updates and missed requirements. Including:
• Cross-team collaboration and engagement with different teams to obtain the necessary information to complete the project and overcome obstacles.
• Engagement with the change process and operations management.
• Supports Vendor management.
• Identifies service improvement activities that would optimise the network's performance, efficiency, and capacity.
• Performs baseline checks on new hardware to ensure it complies with company standards and aligns with the current security posture.
• Support peers with knowledge sharing and reviewing work
All About You
Experiences
• Three to five years of overall IT experience in the following areas:
- Networking, including LAN/WAN
- Firewalls
- Security and encryption technologies
- Load Balancing
• Experience with TCP/IP protocol communications.
• Broad knowledge of Cisco’s product portfolio.
• Knowledge of Network diagnostics, BGP, SNMP, VPN, SSH, MPLS technologies.
• Work in a heavily regulated environment with DSS/PCI compliance.
Skills/ Abilities:
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Self-starter with demonstrated listening skills.
• Serves as a mentor to lower-level employees, leads others, and uses good judgment.
• Limited supervision: work may be reviewed for direction and strategy.
• Ability to identify and formulate a plan to implement improvements in line with colleagues' agreement when completing work.
• Holds a current CCNP certification or equivalent experience.
Work Conditions:
• Supports a 24 by 7 Global Network.
• May require occasional travel.
